rudi or maroney

rudi- has foot problems, etc. but constantly puts up like 1200+ and 12 tds, but is on a team that will air it out more often then not, due to lack of defense and such talent at qb and wr

maroney-has shoulder problems etc. but last year ne had like 21 rushing tds. with dillion out of the way, it is concievable that he could do similiar all for himself. But brady spreads the ball around, and they have a ton of good recievers, which might limit his tds. he will also lose reps to faulk.

who goes first???

IMO, If both were on the board, I wouldn't even think of Maroney. Rudi Johnson is no doubt better than Maroney, at least right now. If you take Rudi, you are guaranteed 1300 yards and 10 touchdowns, at the least. You want to minimize risky players in the first few rounds. Get as much studs as possible. Maroney is far from a stud in my opinion.

johnson has been one of the most consistent fantasy rb's the last 3 seasons.

but maroney could have a great year.

so you either take your 1300 yards and 10+ Td's with johnson

or possibly a great year or something between an average year to a pretty good year with maroney.

Keeper or Non-Keeper IS CRITICAL INFORMATION.

the questions becomes, how do you want to play it? risky, or safe?

safer pick is easily rudi. he'll pound away for 1200 yards and 12 scores yearly. but not much more than that.

maroney is the higher upside pick. he could end up worse than rudi if the coaches want a rotation or if they let someone poach his goal line carries. or if they pass alot. but, he could also end up with about 1450 yards and 15 touchdowns if they get up in games and utilize him. but who knows if he can handle a full year and maintain productivity.

keep in mind new england has no problem using the short passing game as their running game if maroney faulters at all.

so it's high risk vs consistent safety. it would then depend on who your second running back is, if it were my team.

Rudi doesn't have foot problems.

As for who you should take, I would take(no homer) Rudi. He has gotten stronger and faster this year, and is determined to be more of the player people are scared about breaking big runs as well as pounding it out. I look for him to have a great year personally.

Yeah, it really depends on how much of a gambling man you are. If I were in that position this year I think I might go for Maroney just to see how it pans out.

I'd go with Rudi, but i'd just be aware that due to the Bengals RB sitution (lack thereof other than Rudi), they may throw it a bit more than usual to try and protect Rudi a bit. If Rudi gets injured, the Bungles will be really up the chuffer with their running game

thanks man. does that mean i dont give enough? i thought i did lol

oh well. i'd go with rudi but that's just me. if you have a solid back to go with him, i think he'd be good.least you can be sure you won't have any running back busts if you snatch up henry with him. then focus on making the rest of your team strong. then just take a 3rd back later.
