View Full Version : To draft or not to draft: Vince Young

I'm thinking about waiting to draft a qb until the 6th or 7th round and taking vince young. in my league 25 passing yards is 1 point and a td pass is only 4. so im thinking if he rushes a lot and picks up a few tds he'll have a great year for me (6 points for a td and 1 point per 10 yards). but with the madden curse and a lack of offensive help...im stuck

If that was my strategy, I would pick up another 2nd tier QB like Rivers, Cutler, or Romo too.

I try not to think about the Madden curse, but you are right he doesn't have any help. You are taking a gamble, but I don't think it'd be too bad if you could get someone like Eli or Big Ben as a backup a couple rounds later.

I just have a feeling he will be a disappointment to those who think he will be a top 5 guy. Personal preference, but I don't like running QB's with questionable throwing skills and mediocre teams.

Agreed. You won't find him on any of my teams. I wasn't sold on Young before, and I'm not now. I hope I'm wrong though, it'd be nice to see him succeed.

i expect about 14 tds to 13 picks, with about 550 yards rushing and 5 scores on the ground. and about 2700 passing.

as crappy as his arm is i'd take him for the rushing alone. that and he seems to like rushing for scores as well. and will even more without travis henry.

but-whoever starts better be a good blocker or they'll be getting sacked more. henry was the glue that held that titans O together and saved vince's ass.
