In looking toward the 2008 draft we have a lot of holes to fill we need to accuire as many picks as we can. I am wondering can we put DJ Williams on the block to try to pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick ? We are going to need a new LB core anyway and he might be our most marketable player that we would be willing to part with. what does everyone else think about this ? :coffee:

You're nuts! DJ is not going anywhere. He's just settling into the new position, and with his athletic ability he's gonna be a monster.
But hey, at least you didn't bash Shannahan in this thread. That's improvement.

Trade one of the fastest and most athletic LB’s in the game for a 2nd or 3rd round pick?
I can see someone wanting to get a new MLB in and move DJ back over (I don’t agree, but I can see the argument) and bringing in a new MLB, but this would be the worst trade in the history of the Denver Broncos.
And this guy thinks Shanahan is a bad GM    :D

Watch some Bronco games.
You'll actually see that DJ WIlliams is turning into a very good MLB and is among the top 15 league leaders in tackles

DJ Williams is our best linebacker, and was a 1st round pick giving him up for a 2nd or 3rd is stupid(raider like). He should be playing OLB though and we should draft or trade for an inside linebacker to play with him. I would like to see the Broncos trade with the jets and get J. Vilma. Lance Briggs would also be a nice pick-up, or draft another outside backer. That would be sick
LBS: Briggs(drafted OLB) - Vilma - DJ Wiliams

When the broncos released al wilson they hurt themselves at 2 positions mlb and olb.You really think he's gonna be a great mlb? i'm not so sure. and oh Yeah, to make your day,SHANAHAN WOULD NOT KNOW A PLAYER IF ONE CAME UP AND BIT HIM IN THE ASS !! HE SUCKS !!!! :coffee:

The Broncos released Al Wilson because of injuries, genius. Do you think they would have gotten rid of him if he could still produce? If he could, don’t you think another team would have picked them up by now?
Let’s look at what you’ve said in this thread.
You claim Shanahan can’t draft. Yet you want him to give up a proven producer so he can draft an unproven 2nd or 3rd rounder? Help me out here, I’m not following your logic.
If Shanahan would not know a player even if one came up and “bit him in the @##”, why would you want to give him more draft picks? And give up a valuable player to do so?

LBS: Briggs(drafted OLB) - Vilma - DJ Wiliams I still think we need a whole new set of LB's that are BIGGER ,STRONGER AND FASTER THAN WHAT WE HAVE NOW. I also think we might want to shift to the 3-4 defense. We can't do it now because we do not have the big linebackers to play that defense,I think the broncos should at least look at the possibility. as in any trade you have to give to get. :coffee:

Why are people on Vilma's sac? Season Ending knee surgery. Genetic condition with knee also. Not to mention he isn't a free agent. Broncos would have to trade for him.

Bigger and Stronger usually means slower. You can't have everything. If you were a real broncos fan you would know that we have thrived on speed from LB's for years. We don't need bigger stronger.
Al Wilson was released because of a career ending injury, not because Shannahan wanted to let him go. DJ is the most athletic players we've seen in Denver for a long time, and he just needs time to be one of the greatest MLB in the business.
That said, if we got an experienced MLB through trades or Free Agency I wouldn't object to moving DJ back outside either.
In either case, it's thoroughly enjoyable watching you try to pass yourself off as intelligent by throwing out dumb ideas in the hopes that people will think you are brilliant. We can all see right through it every time we see that stupid little coffee drinker that you just have to use every post. You do realize there are 14 other smilies to choose from?

You do realize there are 14 other smilies to choose from? i will agree that a move back outside is better for dj,our quick fast lb's are not gettings us anywhere this year are they? We need bigger and faster lb's and a switch to the 3-4 which gives a team that plays it way more attacking possibilities :salute:

You hate our defense now? Yet you want to take a bunch of players (who we have right now)that would not convert to the 3-4 at all and yet another year to get used to the scheme. i think if we switched to the 3-4 it would be atleast two years before we could get some of the pieces for it.
Im failing here to see your logic.
And not only do we not have the linebackers but we do NOT have the line for it

Put the crack pipe down and turn off your nintendo.
Denver doesn't have the LB's to run a 3-4.
Denver also doesn't have the DT's to run a 3-4.
Denver also doesn't have the DE's to run a 3-4.
We don't have anywhere close to the personnel to run a 3-4, or the coaching staff.
And you think Denver "might want to shift to the 3-4 defense"?
Please.
