Best DT in college football, or at least on par with Glenn Dorsey IMO. Look at their stats for this season:

Ellis: 48 tackles, 10 1/2 TFL, 7.5 sacks

Dorsey: 53 tackles, 11 1/2 TFL, 6 sacks

He is really reminiscent of Tommie Harris IMO, a kniving, explosive interior pass-rusher. The downside is he might not be what Bates wants in a DT. He's not huge at 6'1" 305 lbs. But that is really the only knock you can put on this guy. Anyone who's watched him play sees his intelligence, instincts, tenacity, toughness, strength, speed, etc. I think he would elevate our D-line into the realm of nasty and would be well-worth our 1st-round selection. What do you all think?

Top 10 player. Denver could tank rest of season and still not get a shot at him. But he is a good player.

Ellis could actually work here, but I think a team like Tampa Bay, Indianapolis or anyone who runs a Tampa 2 system (variant) would love to have him. He'd be a welcomed addition here, but do we need another three technique dude when we'll already have Thomas and McKinley?

305 seems like a very generous weight, I have seen him listed as 285 playing weight and at 6-1 he can't pack much more on there without slowing down.

He would be a really good player in a tampa 2 or as a 3-4 end. He is just not big enough to be in a 2 gap 4-3 front. The problem is you can't teach size.

I would walk a big fat circle around him even if he does fall to us and hope to pick up Okam or Red Bryant in the 2nd.
