Falling Fast:
With quarterback Dennis Dixon out for his first full game, defenses had the opportunity to key in on Jonathan Stewart and things didn’t turn out so well. He was held to a mere 33 yards on 13 carries. He was quickly swarmed and couldn’t find much running room in a crowded box. His stock will continue to decline if Oregon can’t find a proper suitor at quarterback for the team’s final two games.

What do you guys think of this?
Do you think an unproductive ending to his season could drop him down into the second round? If he did, would he be worth moving up for after what we've seen out of Hall and Young? Of course, that's only if Henry is not with the team next year.

I live in the Houston area and follow them as much as the Broncos. I nailed last years pick before the season was even over. My bold prediction will be, barring any unforeseen injuries Johnathan Stewart RB Oregon will be the Houston Texans first pick. They have no choice but to grab a RB. He will be successful in that offense and possibly make Houston and offensive juggernaut with Schaub, Johnson, Daniels, and Stewart.
So, no I don't think he will fall into the second round.

That's ridiculous. He's going to be a top 15 player IMO, and there's no getting around that. Let's see where his stock is after the combine, when he proves that he's one of the, if not the, premier physical specimen in this draft.

He does seem like a natural pick for the Texans doesn't he...

I agree, I think he seems like a good pick for the Texans. I'd love to see him go there and play with Schaub and Johnson.
I also agree with you all that he probably won't drop as much as the report suggests.

Production is important. but with that scouts will look at the reasons why with injuries to himself and his teamates around him. come combine if he runs well his stock will rise again. if it really is dropping. and if doesnt rise then denve better consider him in the second.

Valid point, but elite RBs produce even when they are keyed in on every play. Adrian Peterson did, Marshawn Lynch did, Darren McFadden is doing it, so why can't Stewart? There is no doubt he is a great talent, but he has benefitted greatly from the shotgun spread-formation offense run by that dual-threat Heisman-hopeful QB . In the NFL, he will most likely have to run from a WCO with a non-mobile QB.

I agree, but the Texans also need secondary help badly, so I wouldn't rule out guys like Kenny Phillips or Antoine Cason.

His stock shouldn't drop. Anyone would have a hard time running with a stacked box.
