Help for a Madden On-line Noob

Hey guys,

I have been playing the Madden series game for ten plus years. Like all of you, i went out and bought Madden 08 in August, but for once, i thought i would try to play online. I am mainly just a franchise geek, i play a few seasons, than sim a lot just to see how good the team i put together is. I routinely trade top players for good draft picks and such.

Anyways, my question is, how do you go about finding a game on-line with someone that is the same skill level as you? I think i am at level 1 or 0. I tried playing online once, as the Broncos of course, and got my ass handed to me by some guy using the chargers. I gave up after three minutes and it was 21 to 0. I want to play online, but i dont want to just keep getting my ass kicked. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

Just go to the beginners level. :laugh:

Not to sound like a complete idiot here, how do i get there? i am playing on xbox 360 by the way. Can i do that through quick match?

If you click on Lobby then theres a whole list of groups on there.

East, West, Beginners, Headset, ect..

As for online...... I'm pretty bad :laugh:
I use to be soooo good at Madden when I was younger.
Now I dont have as much time and the kiddies out there are much better at it then me. :laugh:

I never was really that good. I can't read defenses, and my play calling can become pretty complacent because i know what can beat the computer.

I would like to play more, but the Xbox is at the girlfriends house, and she's not a big football fan, but i get it in when i can.

I know what your saying about them being to good, not to mention, everyone is always using the chargers or the pats. LT is some sort of deity on that game, and it irritates the hell out of me. Why, why can no one tackle him...grrr....:fight:

Yea its tough. Back in the day I would school my friends and the computer and I would think I'm the madden god. Now I'm the Madden chump. :laugh:

I had lost like 13 in a row before I came back from 21 down and won yesterday but that was a fluke game.

People always seem to be the Pats.
One guy I played threw deep on every single play.
Thats all he did the whole time.

Like i said before, i tried playing once. I had this guy who was all @$#t talking, and just being annoying. I didnt make it through the first quarter, it was just to painful. It was like revliving the Charger/Broncos game from this year.

Right when I got to level 10 and was about 15 or 16 and 1. I came across all the cheaters... I could have lost several of those games if player played conservative or did not go for it on fourth down.

It seems wierd I only avg about 4-6 points allowed untill I play cheaters and all of sudden they can get a touchdown and make me fumble every play.

All of sudden they are getting 60 points and I have to play behind in shotgun and get as many as I can :rolleyes:

How do people cheat? I know they do and I've heard about it but what do they do? I'm horrible this year on Madden. I keep blowing games late or just getting killed the whole game. :fight:

One thing that really pisses me off is when people quit when I'm beating them. 3 people have done that in the past week and I lost all those games to the computer. :laugh:

Don't go "Quick Play" because that'll put you up against anyone. I remember my second quick play match was agaisnt a guy ranked like 135. :laugh:

You gotta go by custom game or somethin like that.
