Result of GM mock draft

So, I did a GM mock draft, through the first 4 rounds, these are the players I have taken:

1. James Laurinaitis, LB. He dropped to number 10, so I traded my first and second rounder to the Panthers for their first and fourth rounders and took him.

2. Dre Moore, DT. I wanted to trade back up into the third, but seeing a lot of my targets remain I took a chance and stayed put with 3 picks in the top half of the 4th.

3. Ezra Butler, LB. I like Butler as a SLB, he is big, he hits hard and he has good pass rush skills. He is a bit raw, but I think his size and athletisism makes him valuable.

4. Chris Williams, OT. I hope he can form a bookend pair with Harris, he has skills, good size and is athletic. He knows Cutler from Vanderbilt too which is a bonus.

You acquired good talent, but I don't like the early picks.

Laurinitis is a top MIKE talent, but where's DJ going to play? He's about the worst WILL LB you could possibly have. He can't cover, he is terrible at blitzing off the edge, and he struggles with outside contain and overrunning the play. DJ's natural ability dictates he play MIKE. That's his natural position and has been since he was at Miami. He played out of position at WILL due to Vilma. After one season at WILL, our team quickly realized that's not his future. DJ is one of the top MIKE's in the NFL this season, and it's his first year there. So, the pick doesn't make sense since neither of these guys can play WILL to save their lives. And DJ refuses to ever play SAM again as he has publically pleaded to finish the remainder of his career at MIKE.


Dre Moore is not an adequate Nose Tackle. He's a decent quasi-nose type guy, but again, we have Marcus Thomas in that role. We need a true clogger. I think he's a wasted pick for our defense.


I like Ezra Butler, but he's going to be a 2nd rounder, so not sure how we get him in the 4th.


Chris Williams looks good to me, he'd be good value if he falls to the 4th.
