thats cool i think that if we do pick him back up that would be a big help for our d cause when he was here we had one of the top linebacker core in the leauge. williams can back to where he was and then maybe rodgers as a dt and then everything will be good with kenny philips or okam

I would love to see Al back. Even if he is 85 to 90 percent, it will be an improvement. DJ did a great job in the middle, but if Al comes back, we put DJ back to his old spot, then go after Briggs. Dj, Al, Briggs. Then we get some young stud DT to free up the LB's so they can tear it up.
Then a good safety to help out the secondary.

Pick up Kenny Phillips - Rd.1
Pick up Okam - Rd.2

And once again, DJ is not being taken out of the MIKE position, especially for someone who had a severe injury and is getting old.

That's funny...I just read that the REDSKINS are gonna make a run at him.

P.S. They are $20 Mill over the cap! :goofy:

Even if Al can't start, his leadership would be a big plus. I am sure he will be cheap to sign, and we'd probably get a loyalty discount. He was the heart and sould of that DE for so long. You could tell last year that they were missing it. Look at all the 12 men on the field penalties, and the time-outs they wasted. It wouldn't happen with him there.

I think Al should be re-signed, but i donīt want him at MLB, I want him as a SLB. as a SLB, his playingtime will be reduced, and mostly on running-downs, where there arenīt a big difference to playing MLB. Nate Webster handled the change of position, and i think Al should do that too.

I agree, we had no problem bringing in Simeon Rice and Sam Adams this year. At least we know Al Wilson... CP to you my friend. :salute:

Al Wilson will be a welcome New Years present. With Gold/Wilson/Williams we could be looking at the same D we had a couple of years ago when we allowed less than 90 Rushing yards per game. But I think the draft will be imprtant as these and other stars age we need to ensure we replenish the stocks. Unfortunately I am not familiar with the College football due to the lack of coverage I get here in New Zealand, so i'll leave that to you guys!

But is it wise to sign aging stars e.g. Adams, Rice..?

It is entirely possible that D.J. is moved to the outside. Shanahan himself hinted it as a possibility in his recent press conference. Just because you don't want it to happen doesn't mean it can't.
