Based on what we know now, it looks as though the Texans' biggest need is a cornerback. They could use their No. 1 pick on a corner, and they also could sign one in free agency. Although there's a long way to go in the evaluation process, cornerback doesn't appear to be strong at the top of the draft, meaning the best prospects are expected to go from, say, 15 on down. The Texans have the 18th selection, and there's a chance Smith could trade down. The way it looks now, there could be a run on cornerbacks near the bottom of the first round, like 20 on down. Based on what we know now, the Texans don't plan to sign a veteran left tackle or running back in free agency, but they're expected to draft players at those positions. -- Houston Chronicle
Well, i can bet they also go after Foxworth in free agency, i dont think Denver can keep him.

If they are willing to pay the piper...the only way they can get Foxworth is to give us a pick (RFA) has it's advantages. I would not be surprised if Denver did not let him go as long as the compensation for him is valid and worthy for what he has done here.

Shanahan has gotten real good lately making sure we do not lose players of caliber, I believe Paymah and Myers are also RFA, I believe so is Dumervil, Crowder and Marshall, not sure about Moss...lol. He does not do it with veterans much, but you have to admit that is genius! It really makes it easy to keep players even if they are not starters...who in the hell wants to give up a good pick for a backup! But I could see Kubiak going for it, he likely would love to get Foxy, if we let him go for a 4th or a 3rd, I could see it happening.

No Dum, Crowder and Marshall are all under their 3rd year in the league and are all under contract still.
And I second the third thing for getting Foxy I could see Kubes doing that. He saw Fox for a full year (Dom's rookie Kubes last here) So maybe he has some extra knowledge and respect for him?
Either way if we are putting a 3rd on him I bet he is gone... but who knows if we don't plan on resigning him maybe that is the best option (I wish we could/woulda kept him and not gone after Dre Bly just to sign him longterm... we have two older corners and are going to lose our good young depth :( )

I'd be astonished if we got a third rounder for a guy who has not excelled at either cornerback or safety, and hasn't even found a home on this team. He's a utility guy; and there's a reason for that: He's a jack of all trades, but a master of none - just an average pro. Unless some team believes he can be a starter, they're not going to fork over a high pick for him.
I like Foxworth because he's a high class guy, but this tag of a third round value on him is ludicrous.

This last year he didn't play that well at either... but the previous year he actually played quite well if I remember correctly and the year before with him and Darrent splitting duties (and all that) Foxy actually played quite well in our scheme under Coyer.
Now if we can't get a third for him I would be surprised, as his rep is that he could start for "over half the teams in the league" I bet someone would fork that over Dream... and heck if they wouldn't I'd absolutedly love to sign him longterm and then have him ready to step in. I think he will fill a role for Slowick much better than he did for Bates, remember Bates scheme was more man on man based and Foxy always seemed better at the zone coverage better (or at least from my understanding of the whole thing) If I am wrong it won't be the first time, but I think Foxy will warrant a 3rd rounder

So if we drafted Crowder last year... that would make it his first year in the league. Not 3rd, unless I entered some type of time portal and it is 2010 now..
