According to the guys on PTI, the Dolphins are willing to trade the 1st overall pick in this year's draft.

Obviously it would require a huge package, consisting of picks, and or players... But I thought it would be fun to discuss the possibilities.

So, what would you give for the 1st overall pick?

Nothing because it's not worth it.

i don't follow college ball that much but i've certainly made myself aware of how many teams invest in a #1 overall pick and bomb. unless we're getting a john elway caliber future megastar, this isn't worth it. and odds are we won't. esp if we try to pick a running back. he'll just ask for exorbitant amounts of cash later on and we'll be forced to try and trade or even let him go. it just depends if what we get later for him would be worth more than what we'd have to give up now to get that pick.

My step child.

I kid, I kid....don't even have one.

I'd say I'd give up our first and see what other needs they were looking for like WR (Javon) LB (Gold). Maybe put a package together that doesnt consist of more picks. Maybe next years 2nd and more players etc. I dunno.

Do you realize that the Broncos entire draft is worth less than 3000 points, the value of the Dolphins top pick? :coffee:

Does that give you an idea how realistic that proposal is? :coffee:

The Tuna would want the house for that pick.
You would be lucky if he took two 1st rounds, one 2nd round and a coupla player like Javon and Foxy....i mean i just dont see him dealing for that, and then would somebody like Dorsey or Mcfadden be worth all that?

A more likely scenario is that we pull a series of trades (ala 2006 draft) to move up to #1. However this also has little to no chance of happening as well. Still, it's fun to dream about Darren McFadden in a Broncos uniform...

Our entire draft, Javon Walker, Travis Henry, our first round pick next year, and Ian Gold.

The sad thing is there are people here who are saying that.

We would only trade into the top 5 for McFadden. Because we could essentially trade 3 spots and grab whichever DT that fell...

...so is Run DMC worth a veteran, several picks, and two firsts? I'm going to say no. I think he will be a fantastic pro but there is no way you trade the house for one player unless that one player is the last piece to a dynasty, and he is not. We have too far to go.

I am quite aware, as you can see in my original post, I clearly state that this is hypothetical, will almost certainly never happen, and it would take a PACKAGE of PICKS as well as PLAYERS...

My intention was just to have a discussion of what you would offer for the 1st overall pick. Hopefully this post makes that clear. :coffee:

I wouldn't touch the first pick in the draft because it would kill our draft and our season.

they wont trade their first

they will keep it but trade their 2nd, 3rd or 4th instead.

witch are all high in the top of each round.

their 2nd round 33rd pick is worth 680 points

their 3rd round 64th pick is worth 280 points
and

their 4th round 97th pick is worth 100 points

so any of these high round picks can be worth 1low and 1 mid draft ect...

I'd trade Marshall, Elvis and our 1st round pick to get the #1 pick in the draft. But no more then that. :fight:
