Denver has decisions to make on Walker, Henry, Gold

Saturday, Feb 16, 2008 9:02 am EST

Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan and his staff will spend these next two weeks finalizing their offseason plan. Step one is determining which of the current players must go the Denver Post reproted.

Harsh decisions are possible for the likes of receiver Javon Walker, running back Travis Henry and outside linebacker Ian Gold. All are expected to be offered for trade, but any deal must be consummated quickly.

Henry's $6 million option bonus is due Feb. 29. Walker has a $5.4 million bonus due March 4. Gold has a $500,000 bonus due March 3.

If we are getting rid of them I do not think we will get much, because teams will know we are probably going to just cut them. That definitely worries me about our offseason.

Next to nothing is a step above nothing. Even if we get a 6th or a 7th rounder we can bring in guys to develop. We could jump on a couple of guys that would have been priority free agents after the draft. Remember, guys like Tom Brady, Terrel Davis, and Tom Nalen were 6th and 7th rounders.

That is true. It would definately help to get some talent for them over nothing. Especially Javon considering he wants out of Denver.

Undervalued players just need to be traded for one another. I propose the following trade. Henry and Javon to the Hawks for Alexander and Burleson.
