i have been doing alot of research on backs after the 4th rd. However I do like Matt Forte, Kevin Smith, tashard Choice and Ray Rice, as well as mendehall and Stewart, but it may not be the year shanny changes his stripes and gets a back early.

I have a feeling we will be lucky to get a back in the 5th rd or later simply because we have 4 already. i feel shanny will give them there chance and we will go from there.

However,

This guy i think could be a good pick up later on in the 5th rd

HE is 6ft, and 224lbs he ran the 40 in 4.47, he had a 34 inch vertical and a 10 ft 5 in broad jump, he had a 4.29 shutlle and 6.39 cone drill. at the combine

att his pro day he moved his vertical to 41.5 inches and his cone drill to 6.34, he kept all his other numbers from the combine

HE has good vision and cutting ability and is not a change of pace back, i feel he could be developed nicely as a power back or Full time workload back, and insurance for henry.

i do not feel selvin young or andre hall could carry the full load if henry gets injured again and mike bell is a wild card.

I would be okay if drafted this guy and i think he would fit our system well.

of course i know the Franchise back guys will freak and evryone that hasnt heard of this guy or done some research will have there 2 cents to say but i figured i would se if anyone else is looking at guys like this.

oh yeah his 2006 and 2007 rushing/recieving stats as well

YR ATT YDS YPC LG TD REC YDS AVG LG TD
2006 207 1131 5.5 92 8 16 128 8.0 25 0
2007 276 1511 5.5 54 14 17 157 9.2 28 1 Avg 125.4 yds per game

can also return kicks as well

Kick return stats-

20 kicks returned for 560 yds, 28.0 yds per return, 1 TD scored for 82 yds

oh yeah on a side note didnt have a single fumble in the 4 years he played at toldeo during his 589 carries he didnt have a single fumble, thats pretty impressive, if u dont belive check it out at espn stats.

Bottom line is i would be excited if we got this guy in the 5th rd as i feel he would do very well in our system.

I like all his # numbers

I cant say I have or remember seeing any game he played in...nothing that stands out I watch 2 or 3 MAC games a year.

I would not be mad if the Broncos draft RB at any spot in the draft although I would rather it be later in the draft.

I would take a chance on drafting 4 or 5 RB from this years class but none of them make me think WE HAVE TO DRAFT HIM.

I cant say he would be one of them.

As your thread noted mostlty because of lack of knowledge of said player.

But now I know and We all know what GIJoeDraft says.

Only spot im changing in my mock is maybe my 7th round pick.

Because I think he will go as high as the 5th round...so drafting Lynch in the 7th seems far fetched.

4.7 40? That is a bit on the slow side. Especially considering he stuck with his numbers from the combine. This indicates he has no confidence he can improve on that number.

matt forte, ray rice and kevin smith all had around the same 40 time, bottom line is his level of competition. he has on numerous occasions according to his college coaches been clocked at 4.40 and 4.41 so no not really he isnt slow, after watching game tape on him he actually has suprisingly good break speed. i am trying to find a video of his kick return he took 92 yds for a TD last year. but the guy aint really slow at all, especially when he is designed as a power back and not a speed back like chris johnson.

I watched some of his highlights and the thing that stood out to me was how nonphysical he is for a back that is 224 lbs.

I had him as a sleeper before, but I have since dropped him on my board because I do not think he fits the system. He runs with too much finesse and reminded me of Tatum (which is a killer in my eyes).

We all know that most of the guys from this draft will be bust and out of the NFL in a couple years...he seems to fal into that category to me.

even though he doesn't run with the authority of a traditional power back that isn't a bad thing. It means he will have suffered less punishing hits and has less wear on him. Also he played against some pretty decent teams and put up some good numbers:

Kansas = 88 yds

Iowa State = 74 yds

Purdue = 93 yds
