I beleive we will do fine in the draft. Most of the picks that flopped were late pick and were gambles. The broncos have done well lately exspecialy with the hegher choices. Dj, Darrent Williams Cutler Marshal Schefler Elvis. This is only a few of the picks that have proven them selves. Give Shanahan a little credit.

Most of those players if not all were products of Ted Sundquest lets see what Shanny can do on his own.

Why does everyone think that Darrent was such a good player god rest his sole? Again, I'm speaking strictly from a football standpoint but I never thought Darrent was that good of a pro. Just my :2cents:

Darrent was a rising star in my opinion, sure he had some bad games, but he was still good enough to have the starting role at corner. Heck he only played for 2 years. In 2 years he had 139 tackles(124 solo), 1 sack, 13 passes deflected, 6 ints, 2 tds, and 5 fumbles 1 which we lost.

DJ was a good pick indeed.

Every other pick in that draft class was not.

Let's hope Shanahan can continue the success of the recent drafts, though 2005 is looking bleak with the unfortunate loss of Darrent Williams and potential losses of Foxworth and Paymah.

I agree that he was better then Bly but every time someone brings up his name they refer to him like he was some sort of superstar. While he was a good player I don't believe he deserves the clout from a football standpoint that everyone gives him. Thats all...

Man, I don't know. In one thread from yesterday (too lazy to look it up), someone posted the Colts draft history in comparison to the Broncos. It was shocking how many stars they have picked up over the years. Equally shocking was how few the Broncos acquired during the same timeframe.

Shanny's strength has been as a coach, not a personnel man. He does come up with good picks, as evidenced by your references, but he gambles on lots of risks, too.
