good pickup, he could be a ST demon and a backup.

The Broncos signed him? If it's true, this is fantastic. For everybody's information, he was in Mayock's top five outside linebackers.
6'1", 227 lbs, 4.40 40 time
Quality guy (on and off the field), is generally said to be undersized or light for his weak side linebacker position. He can, and I think he should, be converted into a project safety player, he has the speed in addition to the power of a collegiate linebacker. If not, he can be a solid, while slightly undersized backup linebacker for the team. He's a great pickup, should have been drafted, and in the mid third to fifth rounds at that. Like Max said, he should, at the very least, be a great special teams player for us.
He, along with Eddie Royal, were two of my favorite players going into this draft. To get both would be awesome. :salute:

He started his college career playing strong safety...

I like this guy, heres a cool comparison from his profile.
Compares To: MARLON McCREE-Denver...Like the former Wildcat, Woodyard is an undersized college linebacker who will have to move to strong safety at the professional level. He can't fool the scouts with his 15-pound weight increase before the NFL Combine, as he showed throughout his career that he struggles to maintain his weight at that level. He will have a tough time playing safety though, unless he can drastically improve his hip stiffness. He is a good read-and-react type that might be better served as a kamikaze on special teams or playing in nickel and dime packages. Still, there is some-thing about his heart and desire that makes you feel he can overcome his physical limitations.

he was supposed to go in the 3th round, i've been scouting him as much as i can before the draft (well, as much as i can sitting in front of the computer) and i really liked him. i wante dthe broncos to draft him in the 5th round, but this works out even better. being thats hes a bronco now, he might now even have to go to safety, we've had a history of good small linebackers. i can see this guy being similar to ian gold, but stronger.

i love this guy as a prospect. I watched alot of Uk football and yes he is undersized but he is a gamer. The guy was the heart and soul of that defense and if worst comes to worst he will be a very good special teams player i think. Solid pickup

He did prove he could put on weight. Didn't he go to school under 210 pounds? A person's body changes a lot in their early twenties, and I think he can put on the weight and keep it on. He is very lean, and judging by his only being able to bench 225 about 18 times at the combine I would say he has muscle he needs to build, which he should be able to do. Keeping weight on as he is maturing into his body and going into the NFL should be alot easier than when he was balancing school and football IMO.

I'm with you on this. He has the backround of being a SS and OLB to be a good tackler, with speed to go along with it. This looks like another signing to start shoring up our STs.

Thank god. I dont think weve been good at special teams as long as ive been a smart enough fan to understand that we had bad special teams.

He's a little small but you can't argue with this kind of production
2005 Games: 11 Tackles: 100 Tackles For Loss: 7.0 Sacks: 2.0 INT's: 1
2006 Games: 13 Tackles: 122 Tackles For Loss: 9.5 Sacks: 2.0 INT's: 1
2007 Games: 13 Tackles: 139 Tackles For Loss: 8.5 Sacks: 2.5 INT's: 0
3 straight years with over 100 tackles.

i live in ky and although im a louisville fan and i hate uk,i was hoping we would get wesley because i've seen first hand how great he can be,,,,,,i think he will put on the weight to play lb because that's his natural position,,,,,it will probably take him a year or so to get the weight on and get his strenght up but like everyone else has said he will definately be a great addition on st's,,,,we couldn't ask for a better character guy,a better leader or a better guy to set an example on and off the field,,,this is a great signing!!
