Okay, I'm not seriously dating anyone, but I have been thinking about the Honeymoon. I know, hahahaha.

Anyways, I've had a couple of ideas and I thought I'd run them by Broncomania and see what ya'll think.

My first idea is that after the wedding, we'd hit a nice hotel or two on our way to Colorado to go up in the mountains and camp for 1 or 2 weeks. I'd buy a camp trailer(can't decide between a hard shell on back of pickup or a popup trailer) and enjoy nature and being by ourselves.

My second idea is a branch off of one of my dreams as a young man. After watching the movie Forrest Gump, I have had a facination about backpacking across the United States during the summer. I've actually mapped out 3 different routes, a northern, a southern, and a middle route. I felt like I could cross the US in 3 months, but I wasn't sure. My plan called for me to spend the night in a hotel every 4 or 5 days.

Well the Honeymoon idea would be to backpack across Oklahoma. Start in the SE corner and go to the NW corner in the panhandle. I think it would be better to spend the nights in hotels and hit the nice restaraunts in each town that we stop in.

So what do ya'll think?

Come on women, don't be shy?

Tell me your thoughts.

Dude, I know you might have a plan and desire to back pack across the country, but I don't know if your honeymoon is the time to do it. Maybe the camping thing, but I'm not feeling the 3 month cross country honeymon.

I'd say you could travel the country and camp eveywhere and relax!:salute:

My wife and I went to Hawaii for a week on our honeymoon four years ago when we got married. You, of course, don't have to do that, but I can tell you that probably 99% of women want to be comfortable (nice bed, shower, hot water, bathroom, etc.,), and not have to rough it on their honeymoon. What you are describing sounds like a great idea, just not for your honeymoon.

Diesel, I know those sound great and all but those aren't really honeymoon ideas. I guess it depends on the girl but I'd have to say no.

Camping is fun but better left for memorial day and the random weekend getaway.

My word of advice would be to get as creative as you want with the proposal but stick to the standard romantic vacation getaway on the honeymoon.

PS - Did I miss something? You get engaged?

Well... considering that you ARENT dating, and I assume ARENT engaged, Id say why stop there. Do it all? WHat you may find is that when you do get engaged you and her(I assume?) would have an idea together what you want to do. She may be thinking a weekend in Cancun while you are thinking 3 weeks backpacking across Amer but you guys end up spending a week eating Winchel doghnuts in Bakersfield Ca watching cheap porn.

Either way, HAVE FUN with it!! ;)

First of all, no I am not dating anyone seriously RIGHT NOW.

However, I do have a date this Saturday morning with a nice young lady that , GASPS, loves the outdoor stuff. Has been elk hunting in Colorado, hunts and fishes on a regular basis, may even be a better shot than me with a gun.

In fact, our date will be pond hopping and then maybe a little KFC picnic.

These are things I think she would enjoy, as would I.

And yea, I can handle the regular "vacation honeymoons", but I think either one of those honeymoons would be a great thing.

Secondly, my idea for myself was backpacking across America.

The Honeymoon would just be across Oklahoma, stopping each night at a hotel.

Any women's thoughts, or did I miss someone?

For someone like me, no. I love nature, the outdoors, but...no.

Hotel at night is a good thing.

It could work, though, if she's like you. Just don't spring it on her as a surprise. I think talking about it first would be good.

At least, she would get a honeymoon. I never had one.

Uh, backpacking across Oklahoma? I have to say, that is the first time I have heard of anyone planning on doing that. Now, I have never been to OK, but everything I know about it indicates that there is just not much there except emptiness. I read a book about the dustbowl years, and I think it was in the very area of OK that you are talking about backpacking in. Again, I have never been there myself, so could be grossly mistaken in my impressions. If, however, I am accurate, I would encourage you to go backpacking somewhere more scenic.

Oh, and unless your wife-to-be is an outdoor fanatic, I would suggest going a different direction entirely for the honeymoon. There are plenty of destinations that can provide an outdoor fix, while still providing the opportunity for the indoor "fix" that is part of the honeymoon idea. ;)

For my honeymoon, I took my wife on a hot air balloon ride. When we reached peak elevation I pushed her out.

She didn't know I tied a bungee cord to her ankles.

Thats not funny, Have you ever been to a giant dome (I really mean giant) filled with flowers. Today is my only day of for the next 14 days.

What do we do?

Drive an hour away to look at flowers from all over the world, as hippies were telling other hippies the origins and history of the flowers, and had my butt pinched my a gay man... who claimed it was an accident. Got more action from him then my fiance in the past 3 weeks.
