I really believe that the Broncos are one good draft or two decent drafts away from being perennial Superbowl contenders. I know that there are a lot of threads on here calling for the Broncos to pick up X big name free agent player, but I believe this is exactly what the Broncos shouldn't do. We have a very young team, especially on offense, and the majority of our starters are locked in for a while.
We should focus on the draft this year to fix the major holes in our defense with good players (MLB, Safety), get a few cornerbacks, a DE and a DT to develop, and maybe a new WR to develop into a slot man to replace Stokley.

By doing this we add to our young core of players to establish a team that can be dominant for years (see the Patriots) rather than just for the upcoming season. I know we have cap room now, but big name signings can take a big hit, and if our young players continue to develop as they have, we will need the cap room to sign them (see BMarsh and Doom).

Exactly, When you play the free agency game, there is the potential for a lot more money being lost than if you focus on the draft.

If we dont make any dumb and costly signings, we could have the cap room to lock up a bunch of our young talent for years to come, Scheff, Doom, Cutler, Thomas, we just extended DJ, thats a very good start to the building of a dynasty and the way the past few drafts have gone I feel very confident in what we're doing as an organization.
