I think his team is going to want something of value for Peppers. What has Moss shown?

I'll probably sound like a politician here because I'm not going to give you a straight answer. I don't really know how Moss' development is going or how the team really feels about him. Not only that but with some of our current star players we're going to need the money to re-sign them.

I like Peppers but like everything there is a price associated with it and I'm not sure that I would like the price.

maybe our 2009 first rounder and second rounder, they may consider it

No, that would be a horrible move.

We have too many questions at too many positions to be able to trade moss, a 1st and prob. a second. I would hate that move. It would also cost us too much money.

Were better off seeing how our young DE's develop and try to draft more including that safety and MLB we need

Hell no.

Peppers is a free agent after the season and If Shanny wants Peppers that bad, then he can throw the bank at him.

I would offer the Panthers Champ Bailey and a 2nd round pick.

It would be tough to trade Champ from a PR stand point, but the Broncos are in dire need of a pass rush and the offense is ready to contend now. It is not right to hold them back because of the defense. Much of the pass defense problems would be solved by a pass rush. Dumervil on one side and Peppers on the other should generate the necessary pressure.

Champ isn't doing a damn thing for them if they're giving up over 700 yards of passing in two weeks. I know most of us believe that the Broncos got the better end of the Portis for Bailey trade, and they did. However, the Broncos were getting more out Portis than they have out of Bailey. A 1,500 yard/season running back is far more valuable than a cornerback who relies on a pass rush in order to generate opportunities for him. A pass rush that doesn't exist anymore. I know the trade was necessary because Shanahan wasn't going to cave into Portis' ridiculous demand for more money. But, keeping Portis would have been the ideal situation if it could have been made to work.

Mediocre cornerbacks can be made to look good with a consistent pass rush that forces quarterbacks to make mistakes. When has a cornerback ever made a defensive end look good? We have the best in the business and our defensive ends don't look like anything special. When have defensive ends gotten 15 coverage sacks in a season? Sacks are usually generated by the pass rush, not by the coverage of the secondary. Coverage sacks happen, but not often enough to make a defensive end look significantly better than he is.

If they could get Peppers for Moss and a pick, that would certainly be preferable, but if the Panthers were inclined to trade Peppers, I don't think Moss would be the proper bait.

The bottom line regarding the question asked by the OP is this, trading for Peppers would be a very good idea if the opportunity were to present itself. When you have an offense that's ready to win now and the biggest thing holding the team back is a pass rush and you have an opportunity to fix that problem, that's what you do.

LMAO I can't believe I"m reading this. Champ is STILL the best. Also a huge solution to fixing the pass D is to get rid of Paymah who shold have been gone LONG ago.

Goes to show just how important, or unimportant more likely, that a shutdown CB is when you don't have a pass rush.
