Ahh, I disagree, I think we take 1 in the 5th or later and see if they pan out. I think the jury is still out on Crowder and Moss. Lets see what we have in them. By the end of the season we will definatley know.

I tend to agree, DE's typically take a while to develop, and I think that at least one of the two (Crowder or Moss) will come around. Remember, Moss is functionally in his rookie year.

I'm thinking at least two, considering the need and the projected depth at the position for next year's draft.

I like the looks of Greg Hardy from Ole Miss, he had a good game against Florida today, his 1st game back from injury. Michael Johnson from GT and Tyson Jackson from LSU are rated very highly, and I've been hearing good things about Texas DE Brian Orakpo. Everette Brown from Florida State is a fearsome pass rusher but may be undersized for a 4-3 DE in the NFL, even though that's what he plays at FSU.

Taking 1 or 2 DE's early depending on need and availability is certainly something to consider next year.

I really like Greg Middleton out of Indiana. He had 16 sacks last season and at 6'3" 275 he should be able to stop the run. We are really in need of a DE that can stop the run and rush the passer.

The draft will be much better for DT's than DE's.

If I had to guess 1 possibly 2 DEs. Brian Orakpo DE Texas looked really good today constantly getting pressure on Arkansas.

Agreed we need a DT that can collapse the pocket.Get that add a LB and a playmaking safety like Eric Berry or William Moore and hopefully our D will have a bright future.

we're stacked at DE...and arent ready to give up on Crowder and Moss...3rd year is usually when you find out if they're the real deal or a bust....

at most we most likely take just 1 late round DE IMO

I'm also on the Middleton bandwagon. I hope we pick him up next year. He could be the disruptive force we need on the line.

I don't see us taking dliners in the early rounds, as they tend to develop slower, and I'm all for immediate impact in places where you need just that. So in this case, if the DEs or DTs for that matter don't progress as they should, I'd be interested in the free agency market. Whereas I'd take linebackers and dbacks in the early rounds, and maybe a RB if Torain and company don't provide long term stability in the run game.

But back to the topic, a mid round DE would be fine, and if required, a FA if we are in a crunch.

I personally don't think DE is the problem- the DE's are getting there, but with no push up the middle, the QB's are stepping up into the pocket - IMHO, We need better/bigger DT's to create a push - right into the loving arms of our DE's

I say we grab 0. We add one in free agency. Grab a NT, DT, ILB, S, and CB in draft.

I truly believe Shanny will sell the farm for Peppers in the offseason so I would expect maybe 1 day 2 DE to be drafted.

I agree.
We need better DT's.
