Well everybody that keeps on saying No team has had a pass longer then thirty yards agasint them can finally ****

Taylor Mays is looking pretty bad today if you want my opinion. he is a horrible tackler. he needs to keep his head up. i see why he has had a few whiffs.

Basically i am very underwhelmed by USC so far tonight

I love how the HUGE, FAST, GREAT Mays failed to tackle Clark (a QB) on the
draw play for a touchdown...

It's early in the game, but Mays has looked bad so far.

Clark looks pretty good and CJ Gable might be a late round sleeper at RB.
I really hope Maybin stays another year and really hits the weight room
so he has a chance to be DE and not a 3-4 rush backer, but he has one
helluva quick first step.

Oh, and Mark Sanchez is going to be a STUD for whoever gets him next year.

well so far none of usc's highly touted defensive players have really done much of anything.both teams offensive lines are controlling the game for the most part.maybin looks to be a pretty solid playerl.has a real nice burst and has already showed multiple pass rushing moves.the bull rush needs work though.
and clark is looking great right now.best ive ever seen him.

on a side note, penn state needs to work some play action cus usc is just sitting on the run right now.....

Yeah they were talking and showing how he looks off his recievers. and doesnt stare them down. and looks as though he can make most of the throws. .. he really does ahve some great timing with his recievers

Yeah, Brian Cushing has definitely been the best player ont he SC defense so
far tonight.

As soon as I say that, Mays forces a fumble 30 or 40 yards down field... :)
Oh wait, maybe the other guy forced the fumble... YAY!

At the beginning this game looked like it might be a dogfight. So much for that.

C.J Gable is USC's best back IMO.

He's looked it thus far.

He runs with more power than Johnson and seems to cut better as well. McKnight
is just a poor mans Reggie Bush as best.

We don't need Taylor Mays. We need to rebuild the defensive line, and that's the first thing the new head coach will notice.

We need a lot of things, safety is one of them. Mays is the best one in this draft, so it makes sense.

Taylor Mays just killed Penn State's WR and his own man in one hit. He knocked them both out. It was ridiculous. At least we know he's willing to decapitate people.

yeah but i have seen a couple times where if he kept his head up instead of trying to take someones head off he would have made the tackle. he also got a personal foul on the play.

Yeah, I agree, but man, that was a Steve Atwater moment if I've ever seen one. I'm ok with some whiffs and personal fouls if the entire NFL receving corps is terrified of catching the ball over the middle.

yup i do not want a friendly safety . . . . i want a headhunter and although i dont care for "dirty" hits i didnt see that as such, more of bad timing because he hit the guy while he was coming down and thus got to low and hit his head

there is little doubt that he will be known at the next leval as a guy that will take your head off. hits like that will cause turnovers but when that is all you see it kinda worries me a bit. ...

So if Taylor ccomes to Denver who is the FS and who is the SS.

Mays is a pure Free Safety. I suppose that would make Josh Barrett the Strong Safety. Outside of Barrett, we don't have a single Safety signed for next season.

This year is stupid deep at safety. Free Agency has some pretty good guys out there. so i think it would be a major mistake if we took mays in the first.

That's what coaches are for my friend. Flaws in technique can be easily corrected if the player is dedicated and eager to learn and better himself.

It's not like Mays has been lacking good coaching over the last 3 years...

I must say I have yet to be impressed by a saftey prospect during the bowl
season so far this year. Brian Cushing on the other hand... man...

This is correct it was CB # 7 Cary Harris that caused the fumble ....

I think Taylor Mays is a sure thing and will make an immediate impact on whatever team that drafts him..... I would love to see the Broncos draft him...I would be thrilled about it.... Watch how fast he goes up the draft prospect charts when he declares....He will be top 10 easy...That imo is the problem..I think Max Power is right on with the sig he is using...

Did anyone notice Keyshawn Johnson draft prospect board for USC players last night.

I'm sure he is hearing about it from them today as he only had 1 player going in the first round....But also mentioned that defense would go down as one of the best ever...:goofy:

That's one of the big reasons I want him. The range he has, and then the ability to just destroy someone is very enticing. He'd provide a kill shot 'tude to our D. Or at least I'd think so.

It all depends on what the new HC/GM want though I guess.

Agreed- I only watched USC play one other game this year, and it was against Oregon when Rey M was out.

Cushing was all over the field. He seems to have good speed and plays very aggressive. He also seems to stick with his assignments well. I would love to have him as a strong side backer.

As would I... except for the injury history. Shoulder, knee, ankle, hand - this guy always seems to have some part of him that's ailing.

However, if he could overcome the injury tag then he'd be great. Really strong, aggressive and can battle through blocks to make plays. Definitely a different kind of LB than we've had recently.

Yeah, and to think some people have him going in the 2nd?

He doesn't get outta position too much so thats a plus, but at the same time
he plays very aggressive. And his strength... Everyone has been Curry this and
Curry that all year (including me) but the gap has been closed.
