yea im just really excited this off season whatever the broncos do ill back them bc im not gonna lie i didnt want clady im mean he was the only guy i didnt want but now i love the move... i just think if we get spags a top rb wouldnt be so bad bc hes gonna make our d much much better im sure

true... id rather get moreno though even though he wont be available. you never know though... maybe now that shanahan is gone we will realize not only do we not have a RB we don't have his system either so we will draft a RB. i would personally love it. i think that our d coordinator was more of the problem than our personnel. thats why i really hope we get spags. im sure we will draft some d, sign some free agents, but him alone will make our d better which is why i think we can afford to draft a RB first round.

Agreed. We would have easily had a 1k rusher this year if not for all the ridiculous injuries.

We need defense not MORE offense.

well we would have had one easier if we didn't have such a bad defense. we were always playing from behind and having to outscore the other team. it was always a shootout so we passed much more than we ran. when your defense lets in an average of 30 points a game, you are going to be passing more than running.

we need BEANIE WELLS :rockon::beer::thumb::cheers::rockon:

The reality is, all our RBs are trash, and any coach 'cept shanahan will use them as much.
I doubt (insert HC here) brings more than 2 of our '08 scrubs back next season

Honestly that if It were not for a bad throw buy cutler that had Hillis get him self injured Im sure we'd have seen some very impresive stuff from him. He was looking pretty damn good up to that point, so there is at least on late rounder you should be pretty happy about!:cheers:

Wells realy dose look good though so I dont know how I couldnt support that!!

Trust me we don't want Beanie Wells. As a huge OSU fan I have watched almost every game Wells has played in. I love having him on the Buckeyes but I don't think he will do well in the NFL. Aside from the fact that he is very fragile and has trouble holding on to the ball he doesn't have great breakaway speed. He is great in college because of his monster stiff arm and he is more powerful than most teams LBs but it will be a different story in the NFL. I think a LB or S would be our best bet. I absolutely love Taylor Mays if he comes out.

I know what you mean. He is a good college RB but against NFL defenses I don't see him being anything special. That's why I'd rather have Moreno because he is more of a sure thing and the whole package but he won't be available. I see us drafting a LB since we have drafted some d line in the past few drafts and they are still young. I don't see us drafting there again. LB or S.

I've watched a lot of his highlight reel stuff on youtube, and after seeing that, I just don't even think the guy is first round talent. Yes, he's great getting through the hole, but he can't breakaway from the CBs and Safeties. Because of that, he's going to get tackled from behind, which can result in injury (see Jackson, Bo for more information on that).

We need defense anyway. A RB shouldn't be high on our wish list.

RB would be horrible for our first round. Mays or Maulauga would be much better for our current situation. Plus, we 7 on IR.

I would love Maulauga also. He seems like a monster and we need some of his intensity to spark our D.

Well push hard because it is very unlikely to happen. RB is a need but it is not our most important need. Defense, Defense, Defense.:cheers:

If we don't get a talented RB, we go into the season with the same garbage thus putting more pressure on the passing game where teams will sit on routes causing the INTs to continue and kill drives. Other than Hillis we have backs that don't threaten the defense and Hillis is not a homerun threat. He should get carries but should be utilized in the passing game more and moved back to FB. Either Wells or Moreno would be a major upgrade at that position and present defenses both through the air and on the ground. As far as defense; there is no way we can address all of our needs through the draft because we need help everywhere. We must be active in FA and sign some real impact players; not the crap we've signed in the past.

Wells is an animal, he has very few noticeable weaknesses. Some will say he is not a catch and run guy, but having only 14 (I believe) opportunities at OH, you can't definitively say one way or another if he has soft hands or not. I know this, at 6'1" and 230 pounds, he runs a 4.4, hits the hole hard, doesn't shy from contact and can flat run over people. Archie Griffen has been quoted as saying this guy is the closest match to Jim Brown he has ever seen. There are only 2 guys I like in this years draft as can't miss players, Wells and Maulauga (who WILL be great and WILL start instantly for any team). With Vilma likely available in Free Agency/Trades, perhaps we can get our MLB and an absolute stud RB in the same year. I still haven't given up hope on our DE's or the likelihood of picking one up under a better talent advisor, but that still leaves the safety position as a glaring need.
