This is kinda like a mock but much more vague. Basically I just say what I think the general direction is for each pick, might not even be a position necessarily but what ev, see how it goes.

1st pick- At pick 12, we will have a pretty decent selection of the talent. Most noticeably the defensive talent which is where we have to go. There are several options to go from on the defense side of the ball. At pick 12, we could definately fill spots at DT, MLB, or S, CB even as a wildcard. If a guy like Malcolm Jenkins falls to us I would take him without hesitating. However he is prob top 5. The best value at 12 right now in my eyes comes down to BJ Raji, Taylor Mays, and Rey Maulagula. Unless were really serious about moving to a 3-4, Mays looks like the best option, not saying Raji wouldnt be a good fit, he would be. But he's more of a NT build. That being said, it could be a nice shift from our undersized DT's.

2nd Pick- This is where it could get interesting. No RB, but at this point we could look at the guys who have slidden into the second who are 1st round talents. Maybe guys like Moore, Cushing, even Laurenitas could fall. We will probably have to take the best value on the defensive side of the ball again. Whichever position we go in the 1st wont be an option here.

3rd pick- Here is where RB becomes a possibility, and possibly an interior O line pick. If the value becomes too good to pass up, we will take a RB, but not before here. Another hole could be filled on the defensive side of the ball but we would move away from the immediate areas of need. Perhaps taking a corner or DE would be a possibility. If we havent taken a safety by now it should be here.

4th- 7th Pick- These picks move away from guys expected to start opening day. We must look for diamonds in the rough as we always have but this time on the defensive side of the ball. This is where you need to tap into the players who produced in college but who dont have eye dropping measurables. I would hesitate going with prospects who didnt produce but have "potential". We dont need "potential" right now, we dont have that luxury. We need production.

Now as your head is spinning with all the possibilities I've just thrown at you, let me succinctly wrap it up with saying how I would go in the draft.

1. Taylor Mays- DT is not as pressing need in my eyes right now.

2. Brian Cushing/ Laurenitas- Whoever falls, and I think they will, we nab and begin to build our LB core.

3. RB- I truly think a special talent will fall here and with all the injuries we've had it will be a safe pick to bring balance to the offense.

4-7

As I said, best player available, defensive emphasis.

Well there you go. Yeah, I'm bored, I probably made no sense, School doesnt start for another week, gaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh...................

I agree with everything except I think we should go RB in the 2nd. That said I definitely wouldn't be mad at James Davis in the 3rd round. If Mays is there at 12 we need to snatch him up but if a few things go a certain way we have a realistic shot at Aaron Curry (not a good shot mind you but possible if the Browns go RB and the Bengals go OT)

Don't be surprised if we draft Moreno or Wells, given one is still available at 12th.

And if they're gone expect to see shonn greene in the 2nd

Nice points.....

This could be a year that we trade down. With the defensive woes we have, there are to many needs and not enough high picks to fix them. If we trade down, we could get 3-4 immediate starters.

This would be a solid draft:

1. Brandon Spikes (20-25 range)
2. Evander Hood (1st - 2nd round choice)
3. Louis Delmas (2nd - 2nd round choice)
4. Domonique Johnson (3rd round choice)

Four potential starters right there.

If Mays or Raji is gone then we should trade down.

whatever we do i hope we don't draft mays.

if wells drops to number 12, i say we get him since he is just to freakishly good. if not, then either get any great DTs available or trade down and get moore. if we do get wells, then either DTs that slipped, or patrick chung. in the third round then maybe go DEs that slipped/linebackers that could possible start soon on our dismal front seven. the rest are just projects and depth, mainly at the front seven

If Mays or Raji is gone then we should trade down.

Let me reiterate and quote me on it Raji will not only be there at 12 but also at 15...and 20...maybe even 25. Raji is not a top 10 talent not only that but in the event that we get Spags we'll be running a 4-3 and he's a nose tackle.

Taylor Mays may not be as skilled as Moore but he's overflowing with potential now I know the danger in drafting on potential (Moss) but if we can get a guy like Brian Dawkins or Yeremiah Bell to tutor him along with a D minded coach he's got all the tools to be a beast.

As for Wells and Moreno it's likely both will be there at 12 unless Cinci or Cleveland decide to take one of them but odds are Cleveland takes Curry and Cinci takes an OT. I would be happy drafting either one but thats just because I'd be excited to see them play (not to mention have a legit back to play on Madden) but I know that's definitely not the right thing for the team as I think we all do.

If these three guys hit the market, I would make it our FA priority to get two of them:

1. Jermaine Phillips (Tampa Bay)
2. Oshiomogho Atogwe (St. Louis)
3. Sean Jones (Cleveland)

We could pretty much get two for half the price of a Peppers, Haynesworth, or Asomugha. We would immediately make our biggest weakness on defense a strength and give us a lot of flexibility going into the draft.

As a strategy, If Mays is on the board at #12, we may have a good chance to trade down to a team like Hous, Miami, Philly, or NE and pick up an additional 2nd.

Mocking, seriously is pointless right now because it truly has no point to it. No HC/GM to base anything off of. All anyone is doing now is just a wishlist. For all we know the new HC may come in here clean house and draft a TE with the first pick lol. Hell it aint even fun to do em until GM/HC are hired.

This is only reason I am pissed Pat fired Mike lol.

I couldn't agree with you more. Not to mention what FA players we work in will drastically affect our draft. So that being said, My wish list starts off with Taylor Mays, hopefully some D-line/LB acquisitions in the FA market, and then A RB in the second or third round. Since it still is a wish list, let's get John Lynch to come in to help coach the secondary and possibly develop Mays into a future Denver Bronco Pro Bowler!
