Eh, a little too early to think about it But I like the enthusiasm.

Hopefully we can fix the defense this year so we can take a franchise RB next year.

If Mays had declared he would be my top choice at 12. It sucks he stayed, we have a huge need at safety.

FS Eric Berry is the best safety to come out in a long time. Think Ed Reed he is a ballhawk and lays the wood. I would trade our first 3 picks in 2010 to land him and that is serious.

Taylor Mays can't hold Eric Berry's jock when it comes to being a safety:fight:

It just depends if any of those players are gonna be available in the late 20s to 32....

After what Arizona's done, I seriously believe that EVERY team could be one year away from the dance.

We could very well be the Arizona of next season.... it'll take our new d a little bit to gel, but as soon as it happens we'll be ready for that run in the playoffs.

Yes but Eric Berry will easily be a top 5 pick...

The question will be is Eric Berry worth tanking a season for and the answer might be yes. He reminds me of Atwater is so many ways.

I know a Pac 10 secondary coach. I asked him about Taylor Mays last week. He said he's not the stud people think he is. He's strong, but not a wrap-up tackler. He's fast, but more of a straight runner. And his football instincts are mediocre. Now that's some inside dope, and you can believe me or not.

Just because he's big, fast, strong and from USC doesn't make the guy a great (or even good) football player. As they say, the NFL is loaded with guys who are big, fast and strong.

Please. Forget Mays. What about this year's safety crop. What about Chung. Highly rated, but nobody's talking him up.

We will not be picking high enough to get Mays next year. We will take a CB in the 1st round of next years draft.

It's cool to see your opptomism, but we have a rough schedule next year. How can you even begin to think CB is a need next year when we havent even seen what we will get next year.

Have you actually watched him play or are you basing his skill sets on that one youtube highlight? I was watching the Steelers-Ravens game the other day and I saw Ed Reed blow a play, odes that mean he isn't good? Give us some better reasons he is not good besides one youtube highlight.

In fact if there is a whole video dedicated to Berry getting juked then it must be something special and happens very rarely.

well ed reed isnt exactly godly in his tackling skills ....a great ball hawk but ray lewis he is not ...

and if theres a video for anyboy getting juked through the whole thing im sure they wont get drafted...but berry being this god you make him out to be and he gets his ankles broken by a guy that couldnt even crack our lineup even after 6 guys went on reserve yeeeah....

I'm not saying he is a God, he is just really good. He will be able to play corner as well. Ed Reed is also considered a premier safety in the league.

The fact being EVERYONE misses tackles!!!!

dude you really have no idea or know any facts on this situation other than youtube videos

do your research, Eric Berry = Playmaker and as of right now Taylor Mays = Nothing but hype

eric berry 12 ints in 2 years and a true soph. all time leader in SEC for int return yards avg 44 and 34 per int respectively, 3 TDs, 44 solo tackles last year, 3 sacks

taylor mays 4 ints in 3 years 3 of them came in 2006, 0 TDs, avg of 13 yards per int ret., 38 solo tackles last year, 0 sacks

go get some knowledge before you just start spouting BS out o your mouth man,

yes berry is smaller than mays but so is almost every S in the league.

how the hell is he undersized for a safety man, a position that doesnt really need size but speed and instincts

hes mayeb 5-10 lbs shy of an avg safety, dawkins in 210

ed reed is the same as berry

polamolu is 207

atogwe is 210

stop with the ignorant statements bro, he is a safety and a MUCH better one than Mays

Depending on who we get as a NT and how our defense shapes up, I would love to see Terrance Cody be the great NT in our 3-4 defense. I have only seen this guy play a couple times but he definitely commands double teams. I would also be satisfied with Mays or Berrie at S.

toxicdonut

also the fact that he is the size of a cornerso is ed reed, troy polamalu, brian dawkins, etc...Mays is a physical freak, but Berry is the most premier playmaking DB in college right now.

How many times do you think bob sanders heard this throughout his life?..How many times do you think he hears this now?

Size at safety isn't a huge concern for me as long as they are DECENT tacklers. Now I'll admit I've never seen Berry play so I can't comment on his tackling, but he definitely sounds like a ballhawk back there and that is something we need.
