I think this would be a great move. Kenny was one of the better players on the line (not saying a lot though) and played DE in college. He would most likely sign cheap and would be a good backup at the worst.
What do you think?
ETC. (http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2009/feb/20/broncos-report-scheffler-recovering-e-coli/): The Broncos are expected to meet with the agent for center Casey Wiegmann in the next 48 hours about a restructured contract. Wiegmann wants to play a couple of more years but is seeking a pay hike after a Pro Bowl season. He's slated to make $845,000 in base salary next season. . . . The Broncos aren't expected to retain many of their free agents. But one player they're at least going to discuss bringing back is lineman Kenny Peterson, who, at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, can play defensive end in a three- man front.

Would be a good depth move for sure. He will come cheap as well. I'd be all for the resigning of Peterson, but only Peterson in regards to our D FA's.
Would be a good back-up behind Thomas as LDE in the 3-4.

Wait and see if Thomas can even play the spot before you hand it to him! :P
JMcD just wants to keep his old high school teammate around....:D

I agree we don't have a player in our front 7 who can be considered a lock at this point. (Well I guess DJ for WILB or WOLB)

Exactly...and Thomas, Peterson are just two. I still think Denver will sign Olshansky, then add in Thomas, Peterson, Clemons, Askew, McBean and Powell. I think there will be a competition for the other end position, if Denver does not sign another defensive end such as Shaun Cody, who can also play inside or draft a mid-round prospect. I think we will see some good competition this off-season.

"Kenny Peterson may be resigned" eh? What's he "resigned" to? Being an NFL scrub? :coffee:
You might want to learn how to spell "re-signed." Those two words do NOT mean the same thing. :incomplete:

YESH! I wouldn't mind bring KP back... He's perfect for depth...

He's actually played better than Thomas the past two years. In my opinion Thomas's job may be in jeopardy with his under achieving. Hopefully he can rediscover his college form under McDaniels otherwise he'll be out of here.

I read all these post, Thomas had alot of double team last year he played good and he is not on the bubble! from what I have read and heard is that he moves to DE in the 3/4 he wil be a Beast!!!! it might take him awhile this summer to get use to it but he has the most potential on this team right now to be a star...

Sorry I misspelled a word, I'm sure no one else ever has either. As far as the RE-SIGNING goes, maybe some people like to look at the positives more than others. Peterson may not be a star but he is a very good 2nd tier player. His stats for last year were 38 tackles (5th on the Dline) 3 sacks (3rd on the team) 1 pass defended (1st on dline) and 1 FF (1st on Dline). Those stats aren't very bad for a backup player and I believe he will be a better DE than a DT. This team is changing defensive philosophies and needs new starters as well as depth players. Peterson will be a very solid depth player and I also wouldn't be too surprised to see him compete for a starting DE spot if it isn't filled through FA.
