not good the guy just ran a 4.77...i dont see him getting drafted and i only see him as a goalline short yardage back at that....i think he might have a rough time in the pros....

No NFL for him.
I only had him as a low 7th to start with and thats when I thought he would run a 4.65-68
It's looking more like he's going to be a UDFA...He may have to mirror former CSU RB Cecil Sapp and become a FB. Gartrell had a great year though, I thought he may become a poor man's Marion Barber, but 4.77? Ouch!

It still think he's a late round guy. Going into the combine noboby expect him to run a 4.4 or 4.5s. Also I'm not worried about what anyone runs or there other numbers, I worry bout what I see on film. The guy gets stronger as the game goes on. Do I think he's a everydown back? No, but I do believe he can carry a load if givin the chance. He's a beteween the tackles runner. His ability in pass protection is something else that cant be measured at the combine. You have to put the film on.

There are alot of backs before him. I see Johnson best fitting is zone blocking system. Where his speed really wont be a issue. Watch the tape the bowl game tape against Frenso State. I bet they still have nightmares about him running all over them. Also but on the East West shrine bowl practices and game tape. He rolled Ellerbe of Georgia on a pass block.

i have always been fond of his blocking something we didnt have otehr than pittman and hillis to do....and he does run all over fresno state...like i said i like him and wouldnt mind him here...tape is the end all of things scouts have it we dont.....but a 4.77 is a rare time to have and get drafted.....

It was a great preformance. One that jump started his stock. I still have the image of him trucking a LB in the hole.

Chris Wells ran a 4.59 and everyone said he is a mid 4.4 guy i reckon he slips now into the middle of round 2

no not a chance he wont get past arizona in the 1st rd....and i would wager that new orleans, houston and san diego could all be potential landing spots as well as tampa bay

I know your only kidding whe you wrote that but Wells running a 4.59 or 4.57 wont really hurt him any. Coming out of high school he ran in the 4.5 range. I think again you have to watch tape. His elite burst though the hole is eye catching. Also the ability to completely jump over someone at 235 is also something that is amazing.
The only question mark anyone has is can he stay heathly for 16 games? That is the only question any coaches or scouts have. They dont question his ability or talent just the durability.

the fastest official time so far for RB is 4.45, which isn't big a difference between Wells and Peerman.
Cedric Peerman is someone whose stock might rise due to the combine, #1 in the 40 so far and did 27 reps on the bench, and #2 on the vertical, 40". Javarris Williams is someone else to watch in the late rounds. I had us picking him in the 7th round in my mock until I changed it to a FB.

He might have all the measurables but the biggest knock on Peerman is his hand size. At the Senior Bowl it was 7 7/8 inches. At the Senior Bowl it was 8 inches. Small hands for RB isnt good. Could lead to fumble problems in the NFL. And the one thing he had to show the Senior bowl was he wouldnt fumble. And what did he do, he fumbled the rock.

I would love for us to sign Johnson as an UDFA and hopefully he can win a roster spot. The last couple of season we have been able to get good players as UDFA or very late in the draft.
