The Jets are "champing at the bit" to acquire Jay Cutler from the Broncos, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
The New York papers haven't gone this far, but it's been confirmed that the Jets are tracking the Cutler situation. The Plain Dealer speculates that the Browns would be willing to give up Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn in a three-team trade. Quinn knows the Broncos' offense well from his college days.

Its interesting...I dont know what the details of it are. And it kinda sounds like Cleveland would be getting screwed if they just end up with Derek Anderson?
Anyway its something to think about:salute!:

I heard on sirius radio a 3 way trade that would go like this.
Jets get Jay Cutler
Browns get cornerback Revis and 17th pick
Denver gets Brady Quinn the #5 pick and a 3rd next year.

That isn't bad.
We could draft.
1st Round Pick(5th)-----BJ Raji
1st Round Pick(12th)*****Trade down with Philly) and select Clay Mathews or Connor Barwin
2nd Round Rashad Jennings
2nd Round Lawerence Sidbury
3rd Dorrell Scott
4th Jasper Brinkley
We could RE-LOAD our Defense with Talent

I know this is probably not how it works but instead of wasting time listening to weak offers by other teams, we should go ahead and let everyone know what the price for Cutler is going to be and if the stakes are too high for another team, they stay out of the game. Of course a 1st round pick in the top 10 is different than one in the bottom 10, so there is room to negotiate.
But the idea is to set the bar high and get major return on what's being offered. This type of deal doesn't come around very often.

This would be an excellent trade if all else fails and Cutler absolutely 100% decides he wants out.

Aaron Curry most likely won't be there at 5.
BJ Raji = NT - excellent pick up
Clay Mathews = excellent OLB
Lawerence Sidbury = excellent OLB
Jasper Brinkley = excellent ILB
Dorrell Scott = excellent DE in 3-4

I say try this one out:
Jay Cutler, Tony Scheffler, No. 5A D-c
For
1st, 4th and 6th round pick in 2009
No. 2,6 D-C in 2010
Trade down with Cleveland's pick to get more picks. I think we can get good DL players in the 3rd-7th rounds. Sammie Lee Hill, Chris Baker, Zach Potter, Ron White, etc..
Remember, Chris Canty, Jay Ratliff and a host of other 3-4 linemen came round 4 or later.

1st Round Pick(12th)----- Malcolm Jenkins
2nd Round----- Ron Brace
2nd Round----- Tyson Jackson
3rd Macho Harris
4th BPA
Aaron Curry most likely won't be there at 5.

While the idea of Raji or Curry plus Brown or Orakpo personally appeal to me as my own version of the pair of first round defensive studs pattern you two established, I have to ask WHO IS GOING TO BE OUR QUARTERBACK?

Other teams can 'track' Cutler all they like, it does not mean he is available in trade.
Come on people, it has already been reported the Broncos are NOT taking calls on Jay Cutler, period.
How can he be traded if he is not on the market?
Enough of the unsubstantiated rumors and speculation already!

seriously...brady quinn is un-tradeable...they already made that VERY clear when the cheifs called wanting him before they got cassel...so everyone should stop all this talking dealing with quinn coming to the broncos..

how many times has a GM said that a player is not availible to trade, yet the player gets traded later on? Even if you dont want to admit it, trading cutler is a very real (unfortunate) possibility.

The chiefs were offering a 2nd round pick, not a player of cutler (or revis') calibur

Not happening.
Further proof this is not happening.
The Browns signed Corey Ivy.
So, now at DB the Browns have Wright, McDonald, Ivy & Poteat.
Trading Quinn or even Anderson to the Jets for Revis? Not happening.
Browns fans like Quinn. Quinn is untradeable (Chiefs tried getting him earlier this offseason) and the fact that the Browns are signing free agent DB's. Browns are not going to be interested in trading for another team's DB.

Well we didn't try hard, but we just tested the waters... Getting Cutler would
probably do it, but not if Quinn AND the 5th overall pcik would be let go.

Not yet. You also change your mind seems like every day. You wanted him to get traded not only last week. I guess that's why your name is mind field.
This is about speculation. *** else are we going to talk about in the off season? Take the log out your a$$.
If Cutler insists on being traded, trust me he will be.

I find that funny.. He has proven so much. Many players fans have loved get traded every year. I know your a browns fan and it's hard to fathom.
Regardless Cleveland would be getting screwd in this deal so I doubt it would work.

Any team is probably getting screwed if they aren't getting Jay in a 3-way trade unless they have a franchise QB already.

Maybe, but in this particular 3 way trade Cleveland is getting extra screwed.
Loose Quinn and their 5th pick to get Revis and move back in the first round?
That's like an F-.

Oh, you mean like Anquan Boldin has forced his trade?
I don't personally care if Cutler is traded if the Broncos get value back for him, but since it is more likely they can't, he won't be traded.
It's just that I can comprehend the English language when an independent source, that is, ANOTHER GM, stated the Broncos were NOT taking offers for Cutler.
Why would he lie?
What does he have to gain by mis-leading Peter King or giving him false info?
It's a non-issue.
A trade for Jay Cutler, if one happens at all, will not occur until on or about draft day. That is the ONLY scenario that makes sense. Only the aquisition of Stafford or Sanchez makes sense.
Why would McD put his fate in the hands of Chris Simms or Brady Quinn?
It makes zero sense.

This is the same peter king that no one believe right? The same guy that said Cutler asked for a trade when bates got canned. If we believe him about this then we should believe him about that too.
I see lots of fair trade value out there for Cutler. It just depends on your value of Cutler. Remember we don't have to have a franchise qb this year, just a system one. Cassel proved that.
I agree the deal if there is one will be on draft day. And this forum if I am not mistaken is called Draft, Trades and Free Agency. With lots of people making some mock drafts including him. What's wrong with that? Sure they say they won't trade him, but who knows what can change.
Speculation..

Since I don't want Cutler, you think I would be interested in an aging QB that would need replacing in 2-3 years (if he even works out and plays that long?) That would be a complete 360 for the Browns. To have a young QB that is the face of the Franchise, trade him away for a player that at most can play a few more years, then a few years later have to draft a young QB again? No thanks, that is not a 180, that is a 360 in which the Browns go through a bunch of trades only to end up in the same exact situation they are in now 2 years after now. Absolutely NO. Even if the Browns get an extra first round draft pick that doesn't lessen the impact of how bad of a trade that is.
