I see a lot of personell being changed next year. I see DJ being traded because he dosn't fit a 3-4 plus he will relieve some cap room. If Maualuga and Brinkley come in see DJ being gone in 2010. Doom and Moss will get there chance at OLB this year if neither does good both will be replaced in 2011. This year will be Mashall last chance if anything happens to him he will be gone by 2010. Also look for Scheffler being a draft day trade. Tim Crowder will get a chance to play this year but I dont really see him as an OLB he may bulk up 20 lbs and play DE .

#12 Rey Maualuga ILB
Has excellent size and bulk...Extremely aggressive...Tough and physical...A violent, intimidating presence who can really deliver the big hit...Good instincts...Very strong...Explosive...Reads and reacts quickly...Does a nice job of taking on and shedding blockers...Will step up and fill against the run...Solid pass rusher and blitzer...Plays faster than he times and has a burst...Has shown the ability to make big plays in coverage...Productive with a knack for making game-changing plays... Offers schematic versatility...Is still improving and has upside

On Rey overplaying plays

USC linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr., who played 13 years for the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, offers a strong case to succumb to the temptation of Maualuga.

''He has a very strong presence. When he's on the field, you know it,'' Norton said last week. ''He's very explosive. He can cause havoc, blow things up.

''He has a certain swagger — very confident, very successful, very dominant. He would certainly be a good nucleus to build around. I had him four years and I wish I had him four more years. It would be hard to pass him up.''

Norton said Maualuga's partying ways were merely ''a young college student who moved away from home having some fun. He was in a very high-profile city on a high-profile team. When people find out, it becomes a big deal.

''As he's gotten older and matured, he realized he shouldn't do those things. He's stayed out of trouble.''

As for Maualuga's tendency to overrun plays, considered one of his biggest weaknesses, Norton said Maualuga was merely doing as he was told.

''My style of coaching him is to play real fast, really attack the line of scrimmage,'' Norton said. ''I've got him coming so fast that when a running back sees it's Rey Maualuga, he will cut back into the rest of the defense. It looks like he's overrunning, but he's really doing what I coached him to do. I coached him to be a north-south guy.''

On Rey as a two down linebacker

A more consistent playmaker than Keith Rivers -- selected 10th overall by the Bengals in 2008 -- Maualuga might be the most explosive hitter in the draft. Blessed with a prototypical combination of size and athleticism, Maualuga has the speed to beat the running back wide and the bulk to be a punisher on the inside. Maualuga impressed scouts with his ability to rush the passer during drills at the Senior Bowl and delivered six sacks as a junior (zero as a senior). His penchant for big plays in coverage make him one of the few inside linebackers of this class capable of playing all three downs. A three-time all-conference selection and 2009 All-American, Maualuga is a difference-maker worthy of a top-20 selection in the 2009 draft.

People are really selling Rey short. Rey loves the game, is highly competitive, and a natural leader of men. He is the heart of a team, we don't have one yet. I have been saying that we should take him at 12 and never look back.

Let me first say Excellent job!!!

There are only 3 things I would change.

1. Tyson Jackson at 18. I would much rather trade down with The Giants at 29 , pick up a extra 2nd round pick and select Jarron Gilbert for DE.

2. Sherrod Martin is rated 2nd Round/3rd Round Pick. Kiper has him going late 2nd Round Pick.

3. With the extra 2nd Round Pick from Giants trade - Denver selects Lawerence Sidbury at OLB. We need to draft a good OLB.

But overall it is a sick draft both in 2009 and 2010. Great job

Pretty solid mock from top to bottom, only thing I'd change is Eric Berry over Taylor Mays but that all depends on draft spots next year

Tyson may be a reach at 18 but is the best 3-4 DE and will match well with Marcus Thomas. Now I like Gilbert but he needs to add about 20+ lbs to be in a 3-4 at 280 he will get man handled by 300 lbs linemen.

Sherrod martin is a tweener and many draft sites has him later in the draft. Most sites that I have been on says there are no truley worthy 1st round saftey and rate Smith,Johnson , delmas and chung as second rounders. Here is one site I used.http://www.nfldraftdog.com/2009_NFL_Draft/2009_nfl_draft_value_board.htm

I really see McDaniels giving Reid, Moss, Doom, Crowder and DJ a chance this year and until we can stop the run a pass rusher would be useless. Thanks for your input. I'll do more research on Martin and may update it later.

I can truley see the Broncos going 8-8 this year putting Berry out of reach Mays is the next best thing. Mays at FS and Chip Vaughn at SS should be solid for years.

I am glad you like the rest of the mock. I could easily be wrong. I am stationed in Iraq and dont get to see much games all I got to go by is the internet. I'll redo it later when I have the time. Thanks again.

p.s. Who else would be a good CB/S in the later rounds. A guy like Martin gives depth at FS/CB but wont start if we get Mays next year.
