I keep reading reports that LB Aron Curry's stock may be dropping a little but he is expected to still be a 1st round pick.

The reasoning behind this from what I've read is his lack of pass rushing ability and the fact that he is projected as a SAM backer in the 4-3 and an ILB in the 3-4. The problem with this is while still an elite prospect that will improve a defense dramatically, there just is not a high enough premium on these positions for whatever reason.

It sounds crazy I know, because no matter what position he projects to, he should be a lock to be a top 5 pick and is easily the best defensive player in this draft. But here's to hoping a couple of teams are just stupid enough to pass on him.

Say he falls to 6 or 8. We should definately trade up to nab him. If he falls to Jax at 8 we could probably get by with giving away 12 and a 3rd rounder to move up. Either way, we should make the move for him if he falls out of the top 5.

Then my dream day 1 would look like this;

1. (probable move-up) LB Aaron Curry Wake Forest
1. (18) DE Robert Ayers Tennessee
2. (48) NT Ron Brace Boston College

We get Curry to man the middle with DJ, yeah, try running on that. Ayers who I'm not real sure if he is a DE in the 3-4 or an OLB, either way we can find a spot for a player like him. Then Brace who I think projects as a better NT than Raji.

Front 7 = FIXED!!!

it is sounding like Curry may drop. If KC does not take him who is there that would need or take him? If a team is going off the BPA philosophy then Id assume someone would nab him but if not who?

maybe Cle but they have other needs
GB possibly but they have a solid LB corps already.

Buffalo is set at linebacker or I should say they have invested in the position recently.

SF has their LB corps pretty well cemented.

Id say there is a real chance Curry slips and Denver drafts him. Id be thrilled.

curry would be a dream come true provided we didn't have to sell the farm for him

I ahvent read a thing about Curry slipping. Every team in the top five picks could use Curry. GB could use another LB as they switch to the 3-4. Even Jax could use him as a potnential MIKE to replace Peterson.

He doesn't fit the 2-4, he had like 3 sacks in college.

You can bet your potatoes that Dorsey is praying to reunite with the likes of that draft.

B.J. Raji at 12
Rey Maualuga at 18
Louis Delmas at 48

I wouldn't mind that draft, even though I would rather have JL instead of Rey Rey. Not so sure about some of the later round picks in this mock either but the first 2 I could live with.

I would be happy with this draft.... I think Delmas will be a star and Rey and Raji would certainly toughen up our front 7.

I'm not big on Rey (because I don't see the value, not because I don't think he'll be a good player), but if we got Raji to go with him, not to mention Delmas at 48, I'd be ecstatic. Those three guys would bring toughness to the defense, for sure.

My dream Saturday is that I wake up, Megan Fox is lying beside me with an exhausted look about her.

The only reason Curry is slipping is because no one in the top 10 really needs an outstanding linebacker. They all have bigger needs than linebacker, I'm sure 1 team will take him if he slips to them. My guess would be the Jags, they need O-Line, WR, and pass rushing help but Curry would make that team that much better. But the Jags are looking pretty for a trade up for any team that needs players that slip to that spot.

Well if you're just waking up, you missed all the fun. Assuming of course, she didn't just have a morning jog.
