Just curious, what does everyone think our biggest need will be and who will be selected in round one of the 2010 Draft?

I will be safe and say that our biggest hole will need to be filled by the biggest body. Yes that is correct the DT. I would LOVE to have Terrence Cody out of Alabama. At 6'4 and 365Lbs. he his just the plug to fill our hole. This boy is a monster! He is also pretty athletic to boot. At that size its no small feat to have the lateral quickness he has. Then again small isnt a word that ness apply here...

Now what do you think?

DE-Carlos Dunlap-My #1 choice if he comes out early
DE-Corey Wootton out of Northwestern in mid rounds
DT-Boo Robinson for NT-2nd choice
DT-Vince Oghobaase for DE-tied for 2nd choice
C-Kristofer O'Dowd from USC
LB-Sergio Kindle-if Moss/ayers/Doom/Crowder don't work out
LB-Micah Johnson, good 3-4 ILB from kentucky
LB-Rolando McClain if he comes out early
S-Eric Berry-hard to pass on the best DB in the draft including this years draft.
QB-Tim Hiller- I think he will be climbing up many draft boards before next years draft
WR-Eric Decker-good hands and routes with good size

It's hard to ignore that we will need a big WR target to replace Marshall. Without a true #1 WR on our roster we will need one fairly early in the draft, not a project. But, yes, I agree that a DT will be a high priority.

It really depends if and who we trade him for. If it's just draft picks, then a bigger WR will be on our radar. But if we were to trade for Braylon Edwards, and he can return to his 2007 form, then our problems might not only be solved, but improved (He's better at going up and getting the ball, but not with YAC than Brandon). If we trade Brandon, then we will know a lot better what our needs will be once it happens, as it could be for a variety of players in return.

Our primary needs will be:
WR, DT, LB and QB
A lot depends on how this year's draft pans out, but a safe bet will be DT and LB's as I don't see much there to call it good. We still need more bodies at LB and on the DL
QB: there's no doubt we will be looking for a young stud QB to solidify the team. I look for Brandstater to be the guy, but even him, we don't know if he's the guy that can be our leader. This season will tell us more about him, especially if he gets to play a game or two in the pre-season...

Terrence Cody from Alabama is one of my favorite players as well
Zac Robinson a Colorado native QB playing for Oklahoma State, will be a guy I'll be watching a lot this year. He'll be a senior this year...

Right now, I'm thinking defensive line. Since we gave our 1st round pick, I believe we are out of the hunt for Gerald McCoy and Ndamukong Suh, who could be outstanding 3-4 DEs. The prospect grades may vary, but Terrance Cody seems to be the only 1st round NT, although his shape and stamina are concerns. You can find Vince Oghobaase and Boo Robinson listed as 2nd round prospects, and any of them would be a good addition if we get a late 1st round pick from the Bears.

I would rather have Carlos Dunlap from Florida over either of those guys if he comes out in the draft. He is an absolute beast. 6-6, 290 runs a 4.7. 13 TFL, 9 sacks as a sophomore. He is my #1 choice for next years draft.

a blurb about him.

At 6-6 290, Dunlap is a monster coming off the edge. He has great speed with a high motor to match. He can beat a lineman either with his agility or pure brute strength. He has excellent pass rushing skills but needs to work on his technique a little more. If he puts in work this year, he could work his way towards the top of his draft

Yea, Carlos Dunlap is another player we won't have a chance to get.

With Chicago's pick, I'm thinking in the mid to late twenties, and looking at WR,
QB, DL, and LB.

I can't name players because it will change 8,356 times before the draft starts.

I wouldn't call WR a primary need quite yet. Im still fairly confident we don't trade Marshall unless a team blows our doors off with an offer.

Hopefully Orton proves he will thrive this this offense, and I'm not sold on those that say he's just a stopgap. Even if we do look to get another young QB, I'm not so sure that McDaniels would take one in the first two rounds. I mean look what he's done with players that were drafted in the later rounds, that ego of his with QB's has to say something.

What I think the top needs will be in the 2010 off-season:

1) NT - I still don't think we have anyone proven here, or with a lot of upside. The only prospect I'm half intersted in that we have at this position is Chris Baker and the dude is a UDFA

2) DE - We should be able to shore up one side with Ayers, Peterson etc, someone like Tyson Jackson mid to late round one or round two would be nice. Quite honestly I'm still not sure what we're going to do with Ayers. I've heard we're putting him at OLB, DE, mixing it up I really have no idea.

3) ILB - I really hope they give Larsen and or Woodyard a shot to play ILB, but I don't think they're sold on anybody.

4) OLB - Believe it or not, I think right now the coaching staff is satisfied with what they're seeing at this position.

5) QB/WR - We'll see how things pan out.

Brandon Spikes in round one, Boo Robinson in round two would be amazing, so thats my wish. Not sure if Spikes would last to where we're going to be picking which is between 15-25 imo.

I think they still draft best available with an eye toward need. Most likely places to look will be NT or rush OLB on D or a big WR on O regardless of Marshall's status. I honestly don't see them looking for a QB too early in the draft.

1. Brandon Spikes- Great Inside Linebacker and would be a great player to play alongside of DJ. Another guy I like who plays inside is rolando mcclain one of them should fall to denver.
2. Colt McCoy- I'm not a big fan of him but he fits McDaniels system, another guy I like is Pat Devlin a very strong arm, he plays at Delaware so he may fly under the radar, but if he's like Flacco he could go in the first.
3. Boo Robinson- a pretty good nose tackle class, several guys I'd like to add, he may go in the 2-4 range so we could probably grab him.
4. Arthur Jones, will be a great and highly looked at 3-4 prospect. He's 6-4 294 and I'd love to have this kid on Denvers line
5. Bryan Anderson- 6-5 215, is great size for a recevier and if denver does decide to get rid of Marshall I would love Anderson to take over for him. Right now I have him around a 3-5, since he goes to Central Michigan his stock shouldn't really change since he's at a low level school.

Other

Say Dumervil, Ayers or the others fail at the olb, i'd like to grab Jerry Hughes, last year he had 19.5 TFL and 15 sacks, a monstorous year a would be a great addition to denver's d

1st round - Ras-I Dowling - I want this kid because we can not just keep getting under sized corners as there is some big WRs out there. So with Dowling who is a shut down corner on the other side Smith will see alot of the ball. Smith + throws towards him = INTERCEPTIONS

2nd round - Colt McCoy - The best quaterback ive seen coming out of college since Peyton Manning. Only Sam Bradford who is in the same draft class can keep up with him.

3rd round - Myron Rolle - My top saftey last year but he is off to Oxford for a year so he drops into the 3rd which could be the steal of the draft for us.

4th round - David Nelson - Big WR if we lose Marshall

Oh and other then Colt McCoy we need Leroy Vann. All American kick returner from F.A.M.U ran back 3 kick returns and 3 punt returns last year alone. Boy is a beast

Too early to rank them so I'll just list in no particular order guys who interest me at this point:

Jevan Snead
Dez Bryant
Aurellius Benn
Gerald McCoy
Ndamukong Suh
Marvin Austin
Carlos Dunlap
Sergio Kindle
Jerry Hughes
George Selvie
Rolando McClain
Brandon Spikes
Taylor Mays
Eric Berry

Too bad McDisaster traded our good 1st round pick for a 2nd round talent 5'9" corner. I would rather have any one of these guys I listed than Alphonso Smith.

Ummmm... no. Not even close.
