Willy Aybar of the Angels just bunted for a home run. He bunted the ball down the first base line where Doug Davis, the pitcher, missed the throw to first base and the ball sailed into right field. Then Aybar pressed his luck by trying to go to third and rightfielder, Just Upton, airmailed the ball over third basemen, Mark Reynold's head and Aybar ran home for a home run on a bunt. I don't know if its technically a home run, but he scored on a bunt. Pretty insane. I haven't seen anything like that since little league.

Actually... I don't think it is since it sounds like a combo of "fielder's choice" and an error.

Very cool and a memory that will stick with the batter for his career top only by, Im sure, a WS pennant.

Hilarious...yes.

Home run? No. I would Imagine that would be ruled a couple errors.

Well I guess it wouldn't offically be a home run. But jeez, that's bad defense.

I would call it like a "Home [unearned] run."

It was many years ago, I was too young to remember who, but someone I think
for the Braves was setting up to bunt, the third basement creeped up, and the
batter pulled back and did literally a swinning bunt (bunt hand placement, just
in motion) and the ball saild over the third basemen, rolled down the line, the
OF misplayed the ball off the side wall, and the batter got a triple out of it, I believe.
The OF then continued to overthrow whoever covered 3B and the batter scored
on a throwing error.
