I saw this movie last night and I gotta say, that was a great horror flick-I dont want to give anything away about it though. I highly suggest seeing this now that its in wide release.

Just a little quote from a CNN article for anyone who hasnt seen it.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/10/12/paranormal.activity.movie/index.html

"Moviegoers agree. Rajiim Gross, an iReporter who posted a review of the film, said he found "Paranormal Activity" to be much better than "Blair Witch Project," another indie-horror film to which it is being compared. Check out Rajiim Gross' iReport

"It actually scared the hell out of me," Gross said. "I saw it during the day and I would hate to be someone who went home after seeing it late at night."

Gross said he believed the studio was smart to leverage the Internet to spread the word. Watch Rajiim Gross' review of 'Paranormal Activity' »

"The best advertising is word of mouth," Gross said. "People tell 10 friends, they go see it and they tell 10 more friends and soon you have an entire community who wants to see it."

Carr, whose Film School Rejects site has been following the frenzy, said the movie "gets inside of your head" and benefits from the traditional fan support that horror films often enjoy.

That, coupled with the big cinema thrills and chills, should add up to continued box office success, Carr said.

"Watching it with 250 strangers in a movie theater and getting everybody to jump at the same time definitely has an effect," he said. "It's the event film right now of the year, which is something that needs to be experienced."

Now I know I gotta go see it!!!

It's going to freak Julianne out a TON! The other night we left the bedroom window open and the wind banged the blinds and she was freaked by that! Of course... the candle holder on her dresser "fell" off the other day when she was going through a bottom drawer. We played with the dresser and unless you tip tha thting over it was going to shake the thing off... so, she has reason to be spooked right now. This would just f her up!!!

So, I hear it was supposed to be the scariest movie ever.

I read the wiki, and then I read everything that happened in it.

No big deal.

I watched the trailer.

My hair stood on end.

I saw it at a midnight showing tonight, and I can't explain it. I know it's fake.

...but my imagination doesn't.

I seen it the other day. It was entertaining in a straight to DVD kinda way. It is pretty obvious that it is fake, especially the ending. I would give it a 6/10

They are showing it only at 12:01am in our area. Tonight is supposed to start increased playing times based on demand. So, we saw Inglorious Basterds last night; LOVED IT!!!

You cant go wrong with killing Nazi's, but as for Paranormal...

This movie runs the risk of being so underhyped, that it gets overhyped. I go to movies to be entertained and escape a bit. This movie wsas deffinitely entertaining.

It is awesome to hear people murming "ohcrapohcrapohcrapohcrap" as the "scary scenese" are unfolding. I dont believe in gohsts or paranormal stuff, but I did get the chills more than once, I did jump more than once, and the hairs on my body went rigid more than once.

Well worth the $10!

In my opinion this movie is way to overhyped. It was good but if they would have changed some things about it I think it would have turned out way better. After seeing it I would recommend you dont pay 10 dollars for it because I have seen better scary movies...

Totally agree. I got a little freaked at some parts of the movie, but not what I expected. They could have done alot more to make it scary. The only reason ppl get scared is because alot of ppl can relate to it the story. Id give it a 6 on Scary, and a 8 on how good it was. I liked it, it was funny, ok scary, not boring at all. Chill Movie :)

Has anyone seen this yet? Do you think it's ok to show this movie to an 11 year old?

Instead of seeing this with friends I was thinking about watching this with my brother to show him a movie that would literally make him crap his pants just like how my cousins did that to me back when I was 11 or is this movie too scary?

Its not too scary. The thing is, like what Cory said, you know its fake, but your mind is still thinking its real when you go home and youre wanting to sleep.

I agree with some others, its at risk of being overhyped.

I am not trying to be Mr. Man over here, but I watched it last night. Second most overrated horror movie I have seen. I was expecting a scare. Nope. I honestly did not jump once.

4/10. Nothing to great at all.

I saw this last night, I'd give it an 8/10.

The thing that makes it scary is that its about what happens when you're asleep, since nobody really knows what happens when you are. And I liked how it took place in a nice, new house, not some old generic scary movie house.

I was disappointed with the ending. The movie got a bit stupid after the part when they were looking up that girl's exorcism online.

This movie did get over hyped. I didn't mind it... there were a few parts that made Julianne jump. There was even one part that made the hair on my right leg stand up(I can't figure out why one leg and not both??). But, it wasn't great.

I'd not be able to watch it again, that's for sure.

What was funny was at about 11:30pm there was a light knock on the door. That scared the poo out of J. I was climbing out of bed and another knock. I opened the door and Sam(the 5 year old girl) was at the door. She was standing in a way that J didn't see her and J freaked out until she saw me bend down to pick Sam up. J had a hard time getting back to sleep... but I lolled!!!!

Its being called the scariest movie of all time.

it's easy to label as such since pretty much 97% of "scary" movies suck these days.... and the past 5 years or so has just been one giant attempt to see which director could afford more fake blood and body parts.

it says playing everywhere.

but unfortunatly nowhere in my county.

I saw this movie tonight, and thought it was great. It's not the actual movie that scares you, it's when you're sitting home alone at night as a college student in your cheap empty apartment at 2:30 AM

The movie itself wasn't scary, but disturbing, and something that sticks with you. I'm not a religious person, so I don't believe in Demons etc. in the religious sense, but our universe is hundreds of billions upon billions of light years across, and is hundred of billions of years old, and you expect me to believe there isn't something else out there? Yeah right.

You're telling me in that pretty much infinite abyss out there there can't be some evil "thing" that wouldn't want to mess with somebody?

Anyways. Great movie, I'm gonna have to fall asleep to Comedy Central tonight
