Yeh, I don't have an X-Box, but Halo 2 might be the factor that makes me get one. If not - i'll wait for it on PC. I'm used to the First Person Shooters controls being on computer.

an xbox is so more advanced in technoloy-Dolby digital 5.1 to ps2s nothing. graphic card made by nvidia to ps2 made by? most games on xbox have very very high resolution and support hdtv to ps2 doesnt. no memory card required cause of 8gb hard drive to ps2s 128mb memory card ( i did the math once it was about 1,100 memory cards to add up to xboxs hard drive) modem already installed in the xbox have to buy one for ps2 for online play and most of all xboxs online play is a 100 times better than ps2s because everyone has to have high speed internet main focus everything with ps2 is outdated. you can copy music onto your hard drive and if the game is compatible you can play it in the game...you just cant say enough

so you have a ps2 and your willing to give xbox a try. I say go for it man you wont be dissappointed. There are a lot of great games out an especially coming soon, Fable is right around the corner if your into that and both NFL games are on xbox not to mention if you like ESPN its alot better on xbox then ps2

Yeah, thanks, there seem to be alot more features. I think i will pick one up, my problem is that the game are mostly the same, except for some of the signature games.........but what the hell for $100 not too shabby.

I currently have a PS2 and a recent X-Box. I guess I'm just not into the whole 'space wars' idea. Seems like a normal old FPS game to me.

Who cares about graphics? They don't make the games good. X-box has the shallowest game selection of them all. Of course gamecube is the best, better graphics then PS2 and the best game selection. X-box is laughable, lots of potential, but no games.

The xbox i beleive is aimed at us older gamers ie the hd support and 5.1 audio kids do not have those unless they are their parents

Goldeneye is the best FPS ever as far as I am concerned, closely followed by Perfect Dark. The new goldeneye looks like crap however.

Says who? There is not just one person who decides. There are many organizations that have their own picks. I only know gamespot's off the top of my head from last year and it was The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, but I doubt say IGN had the same choice. Look, this is coming from a guy who takes gaming as a hobby: Halo actually is just an average FPS. It did nothing new for it's time and I have no idea why it's deemed the "greatest FPS ever" by so many people (extreme amounts of hype, maybe?). I've been following Halo since it's early days, you know when it was originally gonna be made for the PC. I even have a PC Gamer issue with a Halo preview. But after all this, when the game came out it turned out to be a dull, average shooter. The story is alright (better than most, I'll give it that) and the graphics are decent (yet extremely repetitive at times); but the game itself is redundant.

Look at Half-Life, now that is an awesome shooter. And now, one of the best shooters I've ever played, Far Cry. Halo? Halo is just Halo; it's just an extremely hyped up shooter, that's all. I've played many shooters and Halo does nothing to seperate itself from the pack.

Ehem, now; I simply said the game was nothing special. Half-Life was completely fresh and new for it's time and can still be. Halo does have a good story, and decent graphics (and yes you can really notice the repetitiveness). Halo really is a repetitive game that throws hardly anything new at you. Half-Life had so many new and awesome things that you would have to confront, Halo? It was just an okay game with good production values. All those "nice looking" levels lacked any sort of difference. The outside levels were decent, but all the ones inside a building were the same damn thing over and over.

It was a very good console shooter, I will give it that; that may have been cause of the great controls Bungie set for it; it was surprisingly accessible for a console shooter. But it wasn't a great shooter. A.I. had been done better, and I hate to do it but I'll pull it up once more: Half-Life. Just look at the grunts or those crazy black-latex ninjas.

It was a good game, but it wasn't great like so many people say.

I'm not a fan of any sort of particular system, in fact the only PC gaming I do truly is with the game of Civilization II, everything else I just play off and on. I actually do most of my gaming on the Xbox.

And even though I've known Halo since the early days I didn't really care for it at the time so I was completely neutral going into the game.

The use of Half-Life? Well that's because Half-Life is a game four years older and about five times better, that's why. The System Shock's are better games than Halo. No Lones Forever was a more entertaining game to me as well. And just so you don't think I'm PC-heavy I thought Red Faction for the Xbox was just as decent a game.

Halo wears the high-production value mask and there's nothing spectacular about the game itself.

Believe it or not I spend most of my gaming time on a console. Ninja Gaiden, ESPN/Madden, Thief III, MechAssault; all for Xbox, that is what I play most. Occasionally I'll hook up a Close Combat game or Civilization II on my PC. The reason I used Far Cry and Half-Life earlier is only because I see them both being far better FPSers than Halo, and I've played my chunk of FPSers. Opinions are opinions, however, and ours do not agree (not many do).

I see that there will be a new headset coming out, halo 2 edition . So no more need for the crappy designed current xbox communicator. The new one is an over the ear design I never liked the xbox communicator because of the behind the head design.
