true the sc series is not a run and gun it's a thinking mans game. Thats why i like it online statagize w/ your teammate. Most who don't like it just do not have patience and have trouble problem solving.

I have no problem with problem solving, I'd just like to have FUN while I do it. You know? FUN? I play zelda games which a large part of it is problem solving but there is action and adventure as well. Thats why many websites have ocarina of time as one of the best if not the best game of all time. Splinter Cell is like paper cuts to the eyes.

..not all at once guys
Oh, I'm sorry. He doesn't instantly say the game is great and actually tells it as it is so he is not "credible for reviews"? Please.

Bah, he speaks the truth, it was a terrible game. Boring as watching the browns vs chargers on a monday night.

i'd rather take an honest opinion that can be professional and mature, instead of going to a no-name gamecube site where the writer calls the game a "stupid boring piece of crap" in his first sentence.
believe me, i could easily rag on his entire article, nevermind the writing skills alone. if i were you i'd steer clear of sites like that if you want credible opinions.
Did you bother to read his entire article? Very well written. Yes, it is a boring stupid piece of crap, I could go to another site that has major sponsers to deal with so they have to censor their writing but I choose not to. What does this have to do with which site it is on anyways? The game sucks, plain and simple.

yeah, i can't get over your simple thinking quick enough to try and get over your self centered bull****.
the game sucks? what, because you and some unprofessional no community college writing course flunkie say so? the game averaged in the 9s. it's great for what it is. you don't go into madden expecting an intriguing plot or myst expecting lots of action, so if you're too simple or impatient to play something that requires stealthy strategy, go play half life or something.
it's funny that you're telling me this is well written when i can bet i have more writing credentials back from my first yer of journalism than this guy'll ever have. trusdt me, there's a reason he writes for gamecubeguy.com, and he probably worked his way up there lol
I don't NEED gamecubeguy to tell me what to think, I already hated the game when I came across the site. The game was boring, it was fun for awhile but it continued to drag on and on, sitting in a corning waiting for the bloody guard to walk by was not my idea of fun. Oh, and Half-life sucked as well. Stealthy strategy? It was a complete yawn. Just jump on the ole' hype bandwagon and claim how great the game is. It sucked, once again, plain and simple.

sorry, but there's no rebuttal in there. there's you telling me i'm wrong basically "just because", but really, nothing countering what i said.
don't go into a clancy stealth game expecting run and gun, and just because you don't have the patience to do what the game set out to do, don't rag on it. like i said i don't piss on silent hill because it doesn't have bright colors and smiley faces (and don't tell me silent hill sucks like you're telling me half life sucks. i don't care, it's irrelevant and means nothing).
you don't find it fun? congrats, millions of others do, and the game's gotten great ratings left right and center.
you can love or hate a game, but it takes an intelligent, real gamer to still appreciate that which he doesn't enjoy.
and agreeing with someone with as little talent as this "writer" on gamecubeguy, no matter what your prior opinion, is just sad. and if you're going to reply to this (cause i know you will), please don't waste my time with "hey you're wrong just cause! it's slow and i don't like it so it sucks!!". so basically if you're not going to make a decent argument, shut up and leave.
Frankly "hey you're wrong just cause! it's slow and i don't like it so it sucks!" really is all that needs to be said. Who cares what reviews it got? You just accept what each and every site tells you? I had already formed my opinion BEFORE I found the hilarious and true little GCG article. As the saying goes variety is the spice of life, the same is true for video games. Sitting in the corner in the dark is figuring a little "puzzle" to advance. It gets old when you go into that level where you have to rappel down the wall and into that window. Wow, I get to sit in the corner and wait some more? Ingenius. I have no problem with using my brains in games and you won't find me wasting my time on something like GTA, but if the game is not fun then it is not fun. Saying this has been going on for a while shall we call it a draw and give it the old "to each his own"?

some people just do not have the brain power to play such a thinking mans game

Yes, and some people are stupid enough to crouch in a corner for hours on end and call it fun.

not in this reality lol
did i say that? that's such an over simplified attempt at a point, cause really, reviews aren't the end-all be-all, but they say something. take them for what they're worth, and by and low, the good games get good ratings, the bad ones get bad ratings, etc. it's pretty consistant, only being off a few times and far between..no, i don't "let a site do my thinking for me" you simpleton, but a games average among all major sites means something. not everything, something.
yeah and you obviously just play run and gun brainless kill fests by the looks of things, so when you tried something different you hated it?
you're overexaggerating this "sit in a corner" crap. in splinter cell you're doing something more often than you're sitting around. if you can't appreciate the suspense that comes from sneaking as slow as you can up to a guy sitting in a spotlight while someone elses back is turned, turn it off, but admit that it might be fun to others. just because you don't see something, doesn't mean it's not there, you self centered moron. god i hate to call people names but you really are looking like an idiot. i wouldn't like "sitting in a dark corner" either if i wasn't doing anything, trust me, i've been on riddelin for years, but it's not like you won't be doing anything when you're in that corner. you'll have to be watching the guard to see when a good time to strike is. picking up a body and taking it into the dark before someone sees you can be suspenseful as hell. ah screw it, it's worthless..you're too stubborn and bull headed.
hell it wouldn't even surprise me if you just developed this fued because the game was too hard for you and it pissed you off (i can foresee the ego being crushed here and you denying it, but still, this game is very, very hard)
oh, and you hate half life, you hate gta, you hate splinter cell...maybe it's just time you put your controller down, by the looks of it nothing will please you.(but hey, you look liek the type who craves arguing online so maybe you're just lying to get a rise out of people)
'Run and gun' games bore me to death, hence the GTA bashing, I am a nintendo fan but I appreciate all games that are GOOD. Splinter cell is not, I gave it a chance, i was excited, I was hyped. it sucked. I like challenges in my games, I enjoy Zelda titles most of all. Why? Because it is a thinking game with plenty of action, you can't hack your way through, they are some of the most challenging games ever and also some of the best, and not just off the nostalgia factor, I actually never had a NES or SNES I was deprived as a child though I do remember my atari, I first discovered Zelda in 98' I think, with Ocarina of Time widely agreed to be the best game of all time. Now back to splinter cell... Whats this? Not only do you sit in the corner, you WATCH people? Then you drag their bodies away! WOW! I can't believe I hated that game, I must have forgotten all about the watching and dragging! More is coming back to me now... yes, you have to shoot out lights.... and there is a part where you throw a bottle to distract some guards so you can WALK BY THEM! Jesus... do you listen to yourself? No wonder you are so popular on these boards....

ill proly buy the game but i do prefer first person shooters, but i love splinter cell too.

you're not lying, you'd probably love to be able to do this...except i'm really starting to think you know games like the chiefs know defense.
i love zelda games too, but man...saying splinter cell sucks and isn't a challenge, and zelda is...is a ****ing crackhead statement, simple as that. like i said, i absolutely love almost every zelda game ever made, but it practically walks you through the game, as with most nintendo games. saying the zelda series is one of the most challenging series' of all time, let alone compared to SC, is just legally retarded.
..said the guy who calls zelda a challenging thinking mans game lol. wait-i don't quite think a "lol" accurately describes this. *ahem*
LMMFAO
and you can stop trying to throw around personal insults lol. i know i get under your skin but it'll be ok , just relax, step away form the keyboard and breath :)
You ever try the water temple in OoT? One of the hardest levels ever in any game, if you believe Zelda games are simple then you are the retard, maybe early on when you are being told story line and basic controls but it ends there. Splinter Cell was straight forward, it was figuring out different ways to do same things over and over again. Boring. Oh, and whats with the giant LMMFAO? Makes you look like a dumbass, you might want to consider thinking next time you post.

I'll give zelda props it's a good game if your under 16.......

lmao i think even you believe what i'm saying. of course you won't admit it, but i think this is just your stubborn little way of admitting what i said is obviously true.
zelda is hard only in the way that it's tome consuming. there's nothing truly challenging about it minus a boss every turn of the sun, but the game itself just tests your patience. it practically walks you through the game, like i said, like most nintendo games do. that's a good reason why nintendo is so beloved. anyone can pick up the game and play, and do well. some harder, but those are for the older crowd who have the attention span to play something a little on the easy side for a longer period of time.
whereas splinter cell is known as one of the hardest games of this generation, along with ninja gaiden. right now you're gearing up and preparing to deny this and tell me i'm wrong "just cause", so stop. i won't care about your obviously skewed opinion, i'm going off of the general consensus, which is alot more credible than you.
No, I am not agreeing with you... when I said Zelda is hard, I mean Zelda is hard. Sure Splinter Cell is hard, it is also boring. Whoop-dee-doo. Oh, going by the general consensus? Or did you mean to say jumping on the band wagon?
yeah you'd love for the general consensus to be known as the bandwagon, that way you can downplay it whenever you don't agree with it, like in this situation
oops-there goes your little plan. so please, don't try to pull that with someone who is clearly smarter than you junior ;)
and when you said zelda is hard, you don't even mean it and we both know it lol..it's just you sticking up for nintendo games like the stereotypical nintendo fanboy does online. sickeningm, really, but sadly true.
zelda...hard..lol. ahhh, that's a good one. legally retarded, but hilarious..
I'm sorry... did you just claim to be smarter than me? Called me "junior"? I knew you were stupid... but wow... Zelda is one of the hardest games ever, and when i say that i mean, Zelda is one of the hardest games ever, you follow? I am a blind fanboy because I like good games? Ever stop and consider that maybe, just maybe, I like Nintendo because it is the best? Once again, you are a dumbass, and I have better things to do then read your drivel. Say whatever you want, I am "A blind fanboy", go ahead, I like the games because they are good, not because it is made by a certain company. I was never a Nintendo fan in its hayday, I never had a NES or SNES. My first was an N64. I was wondering why that guy made a post pretending to be you and calling you gay, now I know, you are a bloody dolt. Man, you are a special kind of stupid. I am done with this.
