Which Fantasy Football site do you use? I personally use the League Manager on ESPN and it's pretty cool.

I was wondering what other sites are like.

I use both Yahoo and Sportsline, Yahoo is good and free but sportsline is... well not one of my favorites, the other one I played last year was sandbox, I think I will return to that one next year if I have to pay I would rather pay there

I use Yahoo cuz it's free.

I enjoy having my ass kicked for no money. Currently 7th in my league....but I have faith with Jake as my QB!

Nice, who are your running backs? I got Marshall Faulk and Fred Taylor but Faulk ot hurt and Taylor is finally showing up! I got Antwain Smith as my other RB now....kinda sad...but it's hard to get RBs these days.

I have Marshall Faulk too! Though he's benched right now.

I have T.J. Duckett and Charlie Garner (didn't pick him he was bestowed upon me).

I know what you mean about getting good RB's, my available players are not exactly cream of the crop.

Who's your defense? I have CAR, I was laughed at at the beginning of the Season, but the critics are quiet now!

Oh man, i got lucky and stratigic during the draft....we set up a live draft and while I knew all the good WRs were gone...I went after TB defense...and then I got the Ravens.

It's all about blockin others from getthing those teams. So now I have like two alternatives.

Hoolah
10-08-2003, 12:35 PM
That is lucky!!

My original team before I went on a dropping frenzy was a mad combination!

All of the players that I got "assigned" were Oakland which is bad for 2 reasons (1) They suck this year and (2) They are Oakland.

Still, I'm thinking next year I'll grasp the tactical aspects that you describe! I was far too slow.

The annoying thing is that I haven't done too badly on points, but was matched up with the top teams, and so as I said had my behind kicked repeatedly. Where are you in your league?

AsianOrange
10-08-2003, 01:47 PM
I am doing bad because of Faulk and Kurt Warner. They were my #1 and #2 draft pick! I drafted Matt Hasselbeck late in the rounds and he turned out to be a gem!

So now, I dropped Warner for Jake Delholme, Matt Hasselbeck and I think Kyle Boller...but I dropped Boller and picked up Ferotte. That's not going to last since Culpepper is coming back.

My record is 2-3. I got a win last weekend after losing 3 in a row.

I've been matched up with teams that did poor the week before only to play me and they blow me away! Matchup is key.

Hoolah

Sounds like you've been making some good decisions, but there is a certain amount of luck involved, there is no accounting for injuries and like you said matchup is key.

I had the same thing happen, got beaten to hell by a team in week 4, only to see that they sucked the big one in week 5, but are still ahead of me in the league (dispite having a lot less points now), because they beat me....I find I hate them. (joke).

I hope I can get to .500 this week.

Maybe next season you could try the ESPN League Manager. It's pretty cool.

Who are your QBs?

Hoolah
10-09-2003, 11:17 AM
I have Jake the Snake, and continually benched is Kelly Holcomb. Yeh, maybe I will try ESPN next year, Yahoo's ok though. Is ESPN free?

Unfortuantely you have to pay on that board but there are some benifits like you get a trophy and automatically get in drawing to win other prizes!

I play on 2 different style leagues.

The first one i play on is SportingNews salary cap style(which i hapopen to pay for)

the second one i play on is Yahoo, draft style.

The Sportingnews version is (if you pay the 20 dollars) is where you have 2 QB's 3 RB's 3 WR's 1 TE 1 K 1 DEF. its pretty cool, you get to choose who you have on your team (but you do have to stay within the 50 milliuon salary cap) to start off with, then each week you get 4 trades for your team, if you don't use all four of the trades you get to bank them. also your players can go up or down on hgow much they are worth, like for instance i started with Rod Smith which was worth 4.86 to start the season, now he is worth 4.74 which basically means i have lost 120,000 so far (if they would throw more to him, he might be worth more but oh well).

I am third on SportingNews, and i am first on Yahoo.(woohoo)

How did your team do this week?

My team was not bad, but under orders of my husband (last time I EVER listen to him), he told me not to bench Jake, as he was sure to play at the last minute, so consequently no points for the QB!!!

Still it's 39-40 at the moment and I have T.J. Duckett playing tonight, so he HAS to score at least 2 points, and then I will finally get my long dreamt of win!!

The sticker is still I have well over 100 points, but am further down the league than people with 30 points, because I JUST CAN'T WIN!!

Hope you faired better.

Hey!

Well....I got hosed.

Unfairly, my league doesn't give the defense a lot of points. I will lose this week because I was a RB short (Antwain Smith of New England) was not playing. So no points there.

As for my defense, I started the Ravens over Bucs (yea...so dumb but I like the matchup of the Ravens vs. Cardinals).

I got a block punt from Ed Reed but that doesn't give me points? Kinda makes me wonder if my league is rigged.

So that kills me and my opponent has Torry Holt....all he has to do is catch the ball and run for 10 yards and he wins.

So....unless a mircale happens...I lose.

I knew Plummer wasn't going to start. I think it's wise to rest him against the 5-0 Vikings.

Hoolah
10-13-2003, 05:36 PM
My personal feeling is that you should get plenty points for a blocked punt! That seems seriously unfair.

Your luck is sounding like mine! It seems some people can have crappy picks, but get a lucky matchup, or the one game their player does anything is the one he plays in against you.

Seriously, everytime I turn on a game from my match-up opponent, their player within the first 30 seconds has done something that will go down in NFL history.

What's your matchup like for Week 7?

I (unsurprisingly) am up against the league leader....(and his dodgy Peyton Manning QB...ever heard of him???) all I can say is he must be very worried playing my team...not.

Hoolah
10-13-2003, 05:39 PM
Wow!! just realized the Colts have a bye week!! HURRAH!!!

His back up QB is Tom Brady of NE, not quite Peyton is he! And they are up against Miami, there is still hope!

Anyway, back to my original question...what's your week 7 look like?

ozzy_osbourne
10-13-2003, 06:43 PM
5-1 on yahoo first place in the standings

1-5 in the sportsline last of course, thanks to Marshall getting hurt and Staely not showing up, Garcia going backwards...

I think I will try going back to sandbox next year if I am going to pay I would rahter play there

Hoolah
10-14-2003, 01:47 PM
Your probably the guy at the top of my Yahoo league! (possibly a little unlikely as I think there are hundreds of leagues going).

I'm hanging on to Faulk at the moment for grim death, praying he's gonna be back sometime soon!

AsianOrange
10-14-2003, 02:51 PM
Yea, now I'm really mad because I didn't get any credit for that block punt. That is something RARE and something the defesne/special_teams should get mondo points for.

As for week 7? I'm not sure yet...I'll keep you posted. The ESPN site is busy processing the site...so I have to wait.

Tom Brady usually does well against Miami for some wierd reason....I also have Faulk....he should be a keeper since St. Louis look like they are going to contend for the playoffs!

ozzy_osbourne
10-14-2003, 07:43 PM
I hope Faulk will come back as he once was... I could use the extra points since he cost me my season

Hoolah
10-15-2003, 07:21 AM
So we all have Faulk!

I have to report a win! Finally, I needed 2 points from T.J. Duckett on Monday night....and dear god did it look unlikely watching the game. But Tuesday morning, head into the league...and yes he squeezed out 2 points exactly!

So finally! (victory dance). Am now back to 6th in my league!

Am not super surprised that Tom Brady does well against Miami, it figures.

However, not to detract from him at all, I'm slightly relived that I won't be facing Peyton...

2 Weeks until Faulk makes his return

Denverfanatic
10-16-2003, 09:11 AM
well dang, I hear all of you guys, and i can only think, I am really lucky. My Yahoo uses defensive players also. which means I got lucky since I have Simeon Rice on my team and he happened to net me 19 points, and I also have the TB defense which netted me 22 points this week. I am sitting on top of the league with me having no running backs and a poor excuse for WR's which happen to get lucky ever once in a while. (Dante' Hall included).
I just got lucky to get a running back this week in Anthony Thomas (someone actually let him go) which inabled me to drop Mike Anderson, since Clinton is going to be healthy for the rest of the season.

CONGRATS on your first win!!!

Hopefully you can start a steak!

They say Marshall Faulk might be back next week!

How did you go this week Crazy?

I slumped slightly....Steve B. giving me a negative 4....sigh.

Oh man, I won! but by the score of 61 to 65. Everybody else did the upper 90's...I just happen to beat out a guy that had a crummy week. He started Dante Culpepper (of all QBs) and they counted his TD pass to Randy Moss when he lateralled the ball to Moe Williams. That should count as a run in...not a TD Pass.

The guy that saved me was Joe Horn and nowbody else made a dent! My running backs are the no-name duo of Ladell Betts and DeShaun Foster.

They plan to start Marshall Faulk in 2 more weeks! It's almost playoff time in my fantasy league!

Congrats on the win!!

Know it wasn't by alot, but as Chiefs fans say "a wins a win!".

I have to start Faulk this week, as both my back up RBs have a by week and/or injured. I don't want to drop em', ones Duckett (whose been giving me some very necessary points), and the other is Charlie Garner...sigh.

Picked up Kitna as QB after Steve left us. Have heard he his is underrated, and have high hopes for the Bengals...but perhaps not against Seattle...lol!

Reports are saying Faulk should be playing this weekend.

I hope so because Fred Taylor is my other running back and he is going up against that Baltimore defense.

FF Leauges, so far I have seen Yahoo, Sporting News, Sports Line & Sand Box... My question is who likes what and why?
