View Full Version : Who To Start This Week?

The outcome of my matchup this week will go a long way to determining my team's playoff chances, so I need a win and as many points as possible against a team led by M.Bulger, H.Ward, A.Green, J.Jones, O.Smith, etc. A lot of my players have good match-ups this week, but my QBs have health issues, so I could really use some help picking who to start and would appreciate any suggestions or advice.

QB:

S.McNair @ Indy
or
B.Griese vs Atl
also possible
K.Collins vs KC--I would have to drop a player to add K.Collins

Right now, I have S.McNair penciled in as my starter, but wonder if a healthy Collins might not be a better option, even if I have to drop a RB to get him. What do you think?

WR and WR/TE Flex:

I'm set with T.Holt vs SF and D.Jackson vs Dal at two spots, but am not certain about the other two:

RodSmith @SD
R.Curry vs KC
K.Colbert @NO
B.Lloyd @St.L

Right now I have RodSmith and R.Curry penciled in as my starters and have eliminated A.Boldin from consideration because Navarre will be starting at QB. While I expect R.Curry to do well this week, I wonder if either Colbert or Lloyd will do better than Smith this week. Smith is one of my studs, with more points than any of my other WRs, so I'm hesitant to bench him in favor of either Colbert or Lloyd who have better matchups, but have been very inconsistent. Do I go with Smith and Curry or one or both of the other two?

RB/WR Flex:

I'm set at RB with E.James vs Tenn and C.Dillon @ Clev as my starters, but have a couple of choices at the RB/WR Flex spot:

B.Westbrook vs GB
or
C.Taylor vs Cincy
or
D.Blaylock @ Oak
or
A.Smith @ Indy

Right now I have B.Westbrook penciled in as my starter, but, with him going against a GB defense that held M.Faulk and S.Jackson in check, I'm wondering if shift the focus of their attack away from Westbrook, after having him go for multiple TDs the last couple of weeks, back to its WR who go against a weak secondary. C.Taylor will be starting for Baltimore at home against Cincy which has been better against the run lately, but is still weak. Even though D.Blaylock may split time with L.Johnson, Blaylock should still do well against a weak Oak run D. If C.Brown can't go again, A.Smith has done very well lately as his replacement and could have a field day against a weak Indy D. Which one do you think will have the best day and be the better start?

TE:

E.Johnson @ St.L
or
E.Kinney @ Indy--I would have to drop a player to pick up Kinney
or
M.Campbell @Mia--I would have to drop a player to pick up Campbell

Right now, I have E.Johnson as my starter. He has put up decent numbers whenever T.Rattay has started because he gets a lot of catches for good yardage, but he rarely gets any TDs. Kinney is a target that S.McNair looks to in the red zone and will be facing a weak Indy D. Campbell is a sneaky play--he has been getting more looks in the red zone and Miami has given up a lot of TDs to TEs and very few to WRs. I would have to drop a player (probably J.Fargas, to pick up either Kinney or Campbell---would it be worth it, or should I stick with E.Johnson against a weak St.L secondary that has also given up a lot of TE scores?

What do you think?

I would really appreciate whatever thoughts, ideas or suggestions that you might offer. Thanks!

I'd go with mcnair vs a horrible indy defense

at WR i'd go with curry and colbert

i'd also go with blaylock against the raiders for your WR\RB flex

and i'm not sure about you're TE dillema

I would probably go with Kerry Collins to be honest with you.
He is hot right now and facing the KC secondary.
We all know how good KCs D is.
