The movie, although my sister in law is kind of selfish. She is cool to me, but she always criticizes my wife, and my wife saya I have to be quite about it.
Ahhh, anyway, I meant the movie. I fell asleep because it was just sooooo exciting.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 3, Disc 1
(I love the little bits of Whedonesque humor scattered through the shows. e.g. The opening sequence of season 3 where the three non-slayer replacements for Buffy have just failed to kill a vampire and he is running away and Oz slickly flips the wooden stake around his hand, professionally gauges the distance to the fleeing back of the vampire, and mightily hurls the stake only to have it go flopping off wide right and waaay short and the vampire gets away. Just building up to a cliche only to yank the rug out. I LOVE that stuff!)

Yeah, I just got the set a couple months ago. I have it ranked #17 on my Must Have TV DVD's !!! (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/1IFEFOIIEOUZ3/ref=cm_aya_av.lm_more/104-3466849-8899107) list. I would recommend it to most anyone. The only problems it suffers from can be overlooked. The fact that Clark is ALWAYS involved in a bunch of deaths in Smallville and when people find out his secret then suddenly lose the memory gets kinda old but like I said, they can be overlooked.

Hahahahaha....my sister and I talked about that very same thing. Uh oh, they figured you out Clark...but wait, it was while under the influence of Kryptonite so it made them lose their memory.
Unless your poor little Lana and just get your head knocked around each episode and forget everything every week...hahahaha....

Battlestar is definatly gonna be a different tone. It's doubtful they'll every be able to do comedy peices like Firefly's Our Mrs Reynolds. It's gonna be mostly drama and doom and gloom with very little room for anything else. The great thing about Firefly is that it did almost every kind of episode. From horror in Bushwhacked to Dramatic suspense in Objects in Space. Even in the short 14 episodes it was on, it managed to cover a wide spectrum of emotions. They're both pretty hard to compare. I like them both for what they are but I'd have to say that I like Firefly a little more if I had to chose.

If you get a chance, I would seriously recomend buying it. It's a four disc set, with 22 episodes includiing 'Witless' & 'All Shook Up'. A bunch of dead Elvis impersonators on slabs in the morgue, and all you can see are quiffs & blue suede shoes! Quality. You also get an extended version of the pilot, 3 or 4 commentaries and a bunch of other stuff. My son thinks it's hilarious!

Flash:- 1980 totally camp, completely over the top reworking of Flash Gordon. Some great OTT tounge in cheek performances by the likes of Topol, Max von Sydow, Timothy Dalton & Brian Blessed, along with a pumping soundtrack by the incomparable Queen. Not the best movie ever made, but great fun.

Sounds daft, but this film was my first exposure to American Football, with a hilarious football based fight scene.
Yuppers, that initial fight scene is hilarious! Especially how it ends!
Last disc in our DVD thingy was Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (special edition wide screen)

Of course it doesn't compare to the others...but I thought it was still good. It was entertaining and they showed a lot of the Aliens and Predators...in the other movies you get glimpses and al that.
The team-up was pretty retarded, yes...but the movie as a whole was good.

Don't do it man. Clean the house, wax the car, pay the bills, or better yet do your taxes. Don't waste your time with it. Put it on e-bay or take it to blockbuster for rentals. Take what you can for it. It's the worst movie I've seen since rollerball.

I've bought it, but it was only an embossed sleeve case, I didn't see the Cylon until a couple of weeks later.
I'm actually on my third run through of it, this time watching it with my son. I was a bit worried about watching it again after all these years, but it actualy looked a lot better than I thought it would. Sometimes these shows are a real letdown when you watch them as an adult, but apart from the repetitive fx shots, the early episode especially are still pretty good, along with Lloyd Bridges hamming it up later on. Like I said, a nice reminder of days of yore.

Yeah, we're watching one disc of Buffy and the one disc of Angel. I don't know how closely the individual episodes were aired so I thought this was a good compromise, plus it's easier than changing discs after every single episode.

however, maybe it's not a shock anymore how easy it is to get them?

As far as I can see, everything listed has been released, although not necessarily in every market globally.
A View To A Kill, Roger Moore's last outing as 007.

True.
But, Hitch is still very well in theaters and Electra isn't released until tomorrow and Finding Neverland was just released I believe, but I think I got it before that.
I know that Meet the Fockers, Hide and Seek, Oceans Twelve, Hotel Rwanda and some others that I have aren't out yet either. :D

So's the US, at least compared to Europe. Last year I bought a series called 'Sledge Hammer' from the US. It eventually took 10 months for it to be released in the UK, annd costs more to buy over here than it cost me , including shipping!! Needless to say, I'll be ordering season 2 of Sledge from the same place in the US, in about a week.
What really gets me though is that the film companies then have the nerve to complain about piracy! They create the market for pirates to make a profit by releasing a different times across the globe, and pricing markets differently. I don't mind paying a fair price for something, but if I feel I'm getting ripped off, or I have to wait an inordinate amount of time (10 months is just stupid) then I may have to look at other options, usually import.

Hey I hear you there. I think that different release times are kind of rediculous. I mean I realize the U.S. obviously gets most of everything first but it's not fair for you guys. I don't think ordering movies from here before they're released there is illegal. If it wasn't it wouldn't be possible to do it unless it was from some private site or eBay... I think as long as they're released here, it's okay. Unless you're talking about movies that are still in theaters...then that's different. Pretty much the concept is. If it's a copy or a burned replica, etc then it's illegal.
I totally agree about piracy. The whole situation pisses me off. I know your little disc is only worth 75 cents at most...so I hate paying 15 bucks for it. What I hate more is how record labels and the entertainment industry as a whole goes after the individual, poor college student downloading a few songs, etc when they should really go after the companies that manufacture the hardware that allows people to burn discs in the first place! If you don't want people "stealing" your crap, don't make it available or don't make it possible to do so!
They say the purpose of blank discs and burning is to have more space, etc...for other documents, data etc...but then they stil make it possible to burn audio and video files (for what they say may be home video or other use) but they know perfectly well people will use it to acquire free music and movies. But that didn't stop them.
It's all a conspiracy and it gets me going (as you can see). :D
*end hijack* sorry!

Battlestar Galactica - Disk 4. What an absolutely fantastic way to end the first series.
I had my doubts about the new series when I first heard about it, especially when I heard that Starbuck (Dirk Bendict) was going to be a woman (Katee Sackhoff), but the production, stories & cast have dispelled those doubts. Bring on the second series.

Yeah, I've got the mini.
I can't think of anything better around at the moment, it is a very well written, shot and acted piece of work. Callis is fantastic as the tortured Baltar, and Olmos is superb as Adama.

I like Adama and Tigh the best. I can take or leave everyone else. I really hate Apollo and Starbuck. How many times do they have to show that Starbuck is the best at everything? It's getting out of hand. Apollo is just a *****. I'd blow him out the damn airlock!
Season 2 debuts here in the states on July 15th
I'm not sure when it debuts in the UK

That early?!!! Fantastic, hopefully they'll do the same as they did with the first season and debut it in the UK first. ;)
And you're right about Apollo & Starbuck. Unfortunately Bamber's been a couple of other things that I like, primarily ITV's 'Hornblower' series of dramas.
I thought that they could have done so much more with Starbuck, especially after she confessed to her part in Zac's death. I did like the fact that not only did she get bashed up, but unlike one of Bones' quick fixes, she's still limited in what she can do at the end of the series.

Yeah, the time across the mini thru the 13 episodes is only 2 months so they showed her limping throughout which I thought was great.
I thought I heard something that the second season was going to debut at the same time for both countries as to try and minimize spoilers.
Ahh, we'll see I guess.

That would make some sense, it really p!$$e$ me off that some stuff can take the best part of a year to transition across the pond. Don't some of these idiots in theTV & film world realise that they're creating the market for piracy to thrive in?

Just finished watching Sledge Hammer! Season 2.
For those that don't remember it's a really wacky cop show from the mid-eighties, staring David Rasche in the title role as a trigger happy, chauvanisitic Dirty Harry type cop, who makes Rambo look like Pee-Wee Herman. Where Sledge goes, mayhem & chaos follow.
Best part was the last episode, which I can't remember seeing. It was like a brand new show after nearly 20 years.
Can't say enough good things about this show, if you get a chance watch it.
Trust me, I know what I'm doing

before that it was Sideways....boy was that a piece of crap.
Who the hell votes for movies in the Oscars anyway? What exactly did they see in it?
It was about this stupid bastard (whom you wanted to beat the living crap out of 5 minutes into the movie) who is depressed over a divorce and all he does is drink wine and blah blah blah...
Then his friend is a low-life s.o.b. who cheats on his fiance on his bachelor vacation....grrrr
This movie was absolutely horrible. And it wasn't even FUNNY!!!! ***!?
