Oh man, I can't wait for this movie. We get to see the Dark Knight as he should be after suffering from the last 2 Schumucker craptastic movies. The guy that's directing it is Christopher Nolan (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0634240/) a relatively new filmaker that's done a couple cool movies. You should see Momento (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/) if you get the chance. It has kinda of a sureal feel to it. I think that's how this movie is gonna be. It's gonna have that gritty, washed out, depressing feel to it. Kinda like the movie Se7en.

The Official Movie Website (http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/synopsis.html)

Synopsis (http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/synopsis.html)

I'm really interested to see all of Batman's training sequence's to become the greatest human fighter on Earth.

Here's some of the trailers

http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/video.html

I really like the first Batmobile too. Some people don't like it because it's not sleek enough. Well, it's not supposed to be. At least the first one isn't. It wouldn't be all that realistic if the first one was all sleek and "Knight Rider" right out of the gate. It's gotta be a little rough around the edges. It's supposed to be a Military prototype called "The tumbler" produced in cooperation with Wayne industries. Bruce Wayne keeps one for himself to use as the Batmobile.

Here's a couple picture of it.

Front (http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/images/photogallery/image/BD-2349.jpg)

Rear (http://www2.warnerbros.com/batmanbegins/images/photogallery/image/08.jpg)

I think it looks bad ass and from the trailer it sounds pretty mean too.

Anyway, I'm not called The Dark Knight for nothing. I'm a pretty big fan of the Bat so I thought it only made sense for me to start a thread on the Batman event of the decade!

I saw a trailer for it during the SuperBowl. It looks pretty good. The first Batman movie was good, but I didn't like the others. Hopefully this one will be better! Batman is pretty cool, but I like Superman better. I can't wait for that movie to come out. The director of the X-Men movies (Singer?) is going to direct it. Should be good.

I like Superman also but I like Batman better. He's a superhero even though he has no powers. He just out-trains, out-smarts and out-wills everyone. His story is also more tragic and interesting. A billionaire that is bordeline pyschotic because of the childhood tramua of seeing his parents killed in front of him.

I had no idea that "The Dark Knight" is batmans other name. Who is the guy palying the new batman??? Someone told me it was gonnna be Vin Diesil, but I've seen the previews and that's not him...I don't think he'd make a good batman anyway.

The new Batman is this fellow------> Christian Bale (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000288/)

The only thing I've seen him in is American Psycho. I think he'll make a good Batman although I was original aprehensive at the thought of a British guy playing him.

I can't wait....Batman is my favorite...

I've been waiting for like two years for this, ever since they started talking about it...

I saw the first trailer when it was on The Village.....ooh the excitement.

It will be so much better than Batman Forever and Batman and Robin

However, I did like Forever....but still.

I have the original batman on dvd, although i hear that warner is planning on releasing a box set of all 4 films with extras, etc, I look forward to seeing the new batman though, i've seen a pic of the scarecrow and he looks creepy. I hope nolan has the theme from 89's batman. Bryan singer will have william's original superman theme for the new superman film. Hopefully, both franchises will put wb back on track.

Mods will have to move this thread to Entertainment forum. The thread is pretty old, before the new setup went into place.

I am very uninterested in this movie........the batman movies blow chunks imo...and the batmobile just looks stupid in this movie.....Maybe If I get drunk I'll go see it.

Well, I won't argue about the last 2 being a total disgrace to the franchise but the first 2 were pretty decent.

That really doesn't matter because it's a different writer and director for this film.
It will be be good. Trust me.

Speaking of the Batman movies: Here is how I feel about them;

Batman: A+++++
Batman Returns: B+
Batman Forever: C
Batman and Robin: F

Now hopefully this new one is up there as well. For a while I thought that Batman was over with after Batman and Robin. Man that movie sucked. The Downfall of the Series began IMHO with Batman Forever. Batman Returns wasn't great but it was decent IMHO.

Plus Gary Oldman ( who is one of my favorite actors today ) is in it. So it has to be good.

Remember in Batman and Robin when Robin's family all died in that stupid trapeze scene?

I knew the movie was going to blow at the point.

I have a feeling it will be the best one. Yes, even better than the first one! I guess we will see.

What is cool about this new one ( well what I like ) is that Gary Oldman plays Detective Gordon. Not yet Commisioner. But he looks exactly like the Gordon from the Batman comic books.

Gary oldman was a very good choice for gordon. And i hear from those who already have seen the film say that michael caine nailed alfred! He was an very interesting choice for bruce's loyal butler :coffee: .

They're not going to use Elfman's score. This is pretty much a reboot so it will have pretty much new everything. The first reviews are extremely positve.

The entire thing is a start from scratch....

His story will be retold, we'll see his parents die and how he copes with that again, we'll see him train and come back and become Batman...

We'll see how uh....Batman begins....

We also get to see Batman's very first foe, The Scarecrow....and how all the main characters begin (Commissionor, Alfred, etc)...

It's dark like Batman is supposed to be, it's gritty and depressing like Batman and Bruce are...

And I agree with Benny, it will be better than Episode III.

And, if I don't have to work, I'm going to go see it when it opens...and if I do, I'll see it the next day, maybe at the Imax...because I get in free...and then I'll go see it again...and again...for free...and for free...
