Johnny Law Man

For anyone not acquainted with Murphy's Law, it clearly states that: "If sh*t can happen, it will."
It paralells and accentuates the idea of bad luck. Not only is your luck bad, but the single worst case scenario is in full effect under the auspices of Murphy's Law.
On a small scale; I call my wife from my work and she is on the phone because the machine is not picking up. That is a precursor to the guarantee that she will call me back in 15 minutes when I have no time to talk and need both of my hands for working.
Another example: In any horror movie known to mankind. When the slasher is chasing someone, they hop into a car and it never starts right away. Yet another application of Murphy's Law.
Please provide some examples of how Murphy's Law has managed to slam the door in your face when you needed a little luck.
