I like the contributor system and post count thing. I see post count as a respect tool because that means they've put a lot of time into these boards.

But it's clearly important to some people. So I congratulate them.
Why not?
Because it encourages spamming the board.
There was a time before the contributor system that everyone made stupid post count annoucments as if it somehow made them a better poster. This led to thousands of posts that were completely meaningless. Posts with one word like "LOL" or "no". They even had threads with titles like "Raise your post count here" or "post a random number". It got redicuolous and they finally put in a 10 character limit on the posting. I'm glad they did.
Post count glorification does nothing but encourage quantity and not quality.

either way their is no reason to get all high and mighty about this; if someone finds their post count important, what's it to you? seems pretty harmless to me, so why feel the need to belittle them?sigpic

No, everything I post is gold and can be refrenced from time to time including this one.
I reference alot of old posts and print them off. Especially ones that have valuable information.
I don't see any need to delete them.

As I said, it encourages spamming of the board and lowers the overall quality.
That's what it is to me.
