x-box help

just got an x-box and was wondering what the good football games and first person shooter games are?,,,,,,,,,as in Men of Valor, Halo????? also any good soccer or tennis,golf games...........have never had a ps2 and have not tried sports games on the PC...so i am a dumb a**-so please help.thanks........... :eek: :beer: Go Michael Vick..........(get to the clinic bro !)

Halo 2 in my opinion is the best first person shooter out there, and i dont really play sports games, used to play madden online but stopped because of that stupid glitch that let people block kicks and punts, other than that get Halo 2 if you dont have it

Halo 2 is good......but so are all the ghost recons/splinter cells and rainbow six's......Hell just call it all the tom clancy games rock.

Even if your not a fan of the series get ESPN (2k5) for the Xbox. Its cheap, looks great, and plays like real football.

Halo 2 is fun, very, very mainstream, though. You may not like it if you're a PC-FPS-fan. Plus half the world's population of seven year olds is on Xbox-Live, so watch it (and when it comes to swearing, it's: Sailors > 7 year-olds on Xbox-Live > Everybody Else).

The Tom Clancy games are awesome, and Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory are a blast online. Ninja Gaiden is a good pick up --- it's a game where you actually get better as the game gets harder --- the best balance I've ever seen in a game.

And if you want a solid arcade football game, for multiplayer purposes only, pick up NFL Street 2 and some lingo to mud-sling at your pals when you play it (best trash-talking sports-game).

For golf: Tiger Woods 2005. Try to get it for PC if you can (swing is more natural with mouse, IMO) but if you can just get it you're set as far as golf games go cause that's one of the best ever.

For a good FPS experience to give you a break from the Halos, I reccomend Doom3, just came out on the xbox... and its incredible. I'll reccomend the star wars: knights of the old republic games if your'e into RPGs or star wars. The best racing game on xbox is (i.m.o.)burnout3, its crazy fun, and you'll play it a lot. + the games everyone else said.

Ohh I disagree.

I think the Tiger Woods swing is much better with an analog stick, Especially with the dualshock via PS2. The pullback and forward swing seems much more natural. If your off axis a little bit you can draw, slice or hook it. It's very inutitive.

For sport games, The PS2 is the best console to have as it's got the best controller of all three systems.

5 FPS games you should consider:

Halo 2, one of the best multiplayer FPS's out there, great fun, easy to get into
]Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, OMG this game so addictive and fun, very complex engine for gameplay, and some of the best graphics you have EVER seen,online play is also great as well, especially Cooperative mode
Ghost Recon 2, also a great multiplayer shooter, third person though
rainbow six 3/lockdown (lockdown comes out in june), great action/tactical shooter that is the most skilled required multiplayer game ive played in a while
Unreal Championship 2: Liandri Conflict: also has melee combat (swords) great fast paced action shooter, with many moves, and tons of adrenaline pumping fun

4 sports games you should consider:
Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2005, one of the best overall sports games out there right now
Madden 2005, for all your football goodness, great online support, indepth franchise mode, get it, nuff said
Winning Eleven 8, confusing title, but the most beautifully, and well made sports game ever to hit the market, there are so many soccer moves in this game, that you dont even know what you are capable of, also has every team imaginable
MVP Baseball 2005 finally a baseball game with online play, this is basically madden, except its baseball, same indepth gameplay, and franchise mode. Tons of fun online

1 RPG you should consider
jade empire WOW, i am hooked on this game. Ive had this game for 4 days, and have already logged 18 hours on it :eek:, basically a martial arts based RPG set in a oriental fictional empire where a dark presence has taken over which you must defeat, over 30 fighting "styles" to use in combat, and many puzzles to solve, as well as sidequests.
