In your opinion, what is the best "old-school" cartoon?

By "Old-school", I mean pre-90's....(I.e. Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Smurfs, Johnny Quest....you get the idea)

I used to really enjoy watching He-man and the Masters of the Universe...

You gotta give props to Tom and Jerry with Bugs Bunny a close second..

They didn't even speak for the entire cartoon, but you knew what was going on...and they fought like my brother and I... :D

Looney Tunes, which were Warner Bros., not Disney.

I always loved the one where Bugs pops up ion Spain for the bullfighting and plays Matador "El Bugs". Where he drives the bull insane!!!

Also the one where he and Elmer are in the movies, something like the 28th balcony."Parndon me, excuse me, pardon me, excuse me, pardon me". "OH no ya dont sonny!" "USHER, USHER!!" Love that one!!!

 Funny stuff! Bugs was King!

That was the Herculoids.

All Warner Bros stuff is cool. Anybody that likes their "old-school" stuff should check out Animaniacs - just like Bugs (et al) this cartoon has content that kids just wouldn't understand.

I'm also a Rocky & Bullwinkle fan. Not so much them, but the others in their program.

This thread makes me feel old.

I say it makes me feel privileged. I mean c'mon Thundarr the Barbarian...I pity those who have never seen or heard of that stuff...

JONNY QUEST, is this the first cartoon that people died?

Slightly related...

Does anyone remember "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters"? It was a Krofft show (they also did Land of the Lost) in the early 70's. I was pretty little then, but I can remember quite well watching this show and liking it.

Attached a picture to help jog your memories...

Geez, they've all already been named...

Transformers, Bugs Bunny, G.I. Joe...

Was X-Men 90s? If so then it doesn't count.

I remember getting up at like 6 to watch all the cartoons...man what was I thinking.

It's sad that cartoons are nothing like they used to be...and they're horrible too. Most of them are the same.

Star Blazers (http://www.starblazers.com/)

Without it, there is no Robotech or Voltron in the U.S. Groundbreaking and highly influential anime.

Yes, the Voltron with the cats, though I didn't hate the one with the cars and trucks. Starblazers was cool too.

Aboslutely. That other Voltron was lame.

Alastor

Lame!? That's a bit harsh... I liked the vehicles one. Sides, the toy had more parts and stuff.

Not much can compete with the Princess though. Even for a cartoon... she was pretty hot (to a twelve year-old at least).

Disney (Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and all the rest of the gang.)
Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny & company)
Popeye the Sailor Man (Popeye could stop a train--with his looks! Bluto was a big, fat, unkempt slob, and they fought over Olive Oyl, who was shaped like a fountain pen and had a voice like a bastard file rasping against an anvil.) ROTFLMAO! Well, LMBO (laugh my bottom off--I was just a kid, and my mom would slap me!).

ROTFLMFAO! That wasn't a cartoon was it? :confused:Yes it was. It started like in 1988 or something like that but I know it was just before the 90's. When I was little they were the biggest thing around. I remember when the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie came out, there was a line for it that went all the way around the block. They were just that big. By the way, I have seen all three TMNT movies and did like all three. LOL! But just like the Godfather, the first one was the best.
