I'm a Directv kinda guy. IMO they're better just because they have the NFL Sunday Ticket. They also have NFL Network, which DishNetwork doesn't have. I know a few people who've had both and all of them say Directv is better.

easy choice for me

Directtv - NFL Sunday Ticket
DishNetwork - No NFL Sunday Ticket

If you like football Direct TV.

All other sports packages are the same even with Comcast.

My parents got Primestar when it first came out. Back in '92 or '93 I think. It had like 10 channels.

Reptile, I'm pretty sure Dishnetwork is going to get NFL Network sometime. Just not sure when.

Is it possible to just get the NFL Sunday Ticket package on DirecTV? I don't really want to spend an extra $200 for the base package when the only thing I want it for is football.

Direct TV is what I had until recently. They were awesome at customer service, their crap broke FAR less often than cable (and came back up faster too) and were far less expensive.

Great value compared to cable. I can't really speak to a comparison with Dish Network because I don't have any experience with it.

I had cable back in Denver and Highlands Ranch. Do you remember Mile High Cable? They were the absolute worst!!!!

When I moved out to Franktown, cable wasnt available. It still isnt. So I went to Radio Shack to buy an antenna that would pick up all the local channels. They told me that if I went with Primestar, they would GIVE me the antenna, a $200.00 one! So I went with it.

Primestar wasnt bad, but Directv has been great. It rarely goes out, and mosty for weather reasons, blizzards, things like that. Their customer service has been great! They came out last year when a tree blocked it. My wife wasnt too happy that we had to butcher the tree, but the guy replaced all of the wiring throughout the entire system, just to make sure everything worked OK. Maybe they like to replace all the Primestar stuff?

Anyway, he worked his butt off for about three hours, when he could have just said "cut the tree" and left. He showed up exactly when he said he would, an oddity in todays CS at home. Try getting anything like that from the phone company. "We will be there sometime between 8 and 5........."
