View Full Version : has anyone over there seen the BIG english comedys/dramas?

i was just wondering if they showed any of the big dramas or comedys in the USA. i believe this is something we excel in and i love loads of these great programmes. (i have to admit, the simpsons are damn good!!!) here are a few i can think of at the moment.

ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES
SHARPE
PORRIDGE
BOTTOM
VICAR OF DIBLEY
DAD'S ARMY
AUF WIEDERSAIN PET
LEAGUE OF GENTLEMAN

my favourite comedy is BOTTOM and i love the drama - SHARPE.

have you heard of any of these?

How much American propaganda do you get across the pond? :D

I have never heard of any of the shows you listed, but I have heard of a lot of comedys that originated in Europe with huge success, just to flop in America.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but is this drama about a retired TE who after taking a position on TV started bashing his former QB and Head Coach?

If that's the case, it's the only one I know, and is far from being my favorite ... ;)

lol, harsh but it annoyed me as well. SS should of had more class.

its about the war with france (napoleon and wellington)

lol, no idea! try e-bay

sharpe is a really good drama about a british officer who comes up from the ranks. he plays the hero (sean bean)

bottom is a funny comedy and 2 hopeless guys who just want a women!!

only fools and horses is a classic.
