This subject came up again for me on Saturday, at my house, as we celebrated Trevor graduating from High School.
As we talked of concert experiences, I was floored when I found out that my oldest sister was at the concert I always have called the best one I have ever seen. Too much! It took 30 years to discover that tidbit!
1975, Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon.
Tickets cost $5.50
I could go way overboard here telling the story of that night and show.
I choose not to.
What was your best concert you ever saw?

- frankie Goes To Hollywood (1987) at Lille
- The Silencers (does anyone know who they are here ?) at the Sebastopol theater...
- Lou Reed in 1992 but I was a little disapointed.. The musicians were good but the concert was boring.

TOOL 1996 Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie NY...
The Melvins opened up..they sucked...
It was a General admission show, so the strong survived...They opened with "3rd eye" and as soon as I saw heads and bodies movin', I turned into a very bad man.. :D ...at one point, I had a 10 foot radius around me while moshing...150 lb kids fly really well.."3rd eye" is 15 minutes long, by the second song, I fought my way up to 2 rows of bodies from the band...guess what...the 2 guys in front of me got into a fist-fight...the bouncers cleaned them out and there I was...about 8 feet from Maynard James Keenan, Justin Chancellor, Adam Jones and Danny Carey...
Maynard was painted light blue with hot pink dots painted on him, he had on a pair of boxers...
Adam Jones was painted Brown, from head to toe...he had on jeans...
Justin Chancellor was painted Orange, from head to toe..he also wore jeans...
Danny carey was painted Yellow and wore shorts...
They played 12 songs...3rd eye, Aenima, Prison sex, Stinkfist...all the great ones...
I got backstage and met Maynard...he is a little tiny guy...(maybe 5'5")...I stole a sign off the dressing room door when the publicist came out and told us to go home because the rest of the band wasn't coming out...

Last year, Rush's 30th anniversary tour... it was life changing.
It was so awesome to see guys who've been doing it 30 years come out and blow the socks off of 30,000+. They had the washing machines going, sweet pyro, just an incredible and experienced stage presence. And the lasers! Oh my! Even if you don't like Rush this show would've awestruck you. Masters of the art of Rock in every sense of the word, and it showed for 3 straight hours. I think the best part of the whole show was how hardcore the fans are, I had guys 30 or so years older than me passing herb and beers and high-fives like there was no tomorrow. Tickets were in the $40-something range but the beer was all you could drink for 20 bucks and hell they didn't card me. 5 minute guitar an bass solos towards the end capped off with what had to be 10 minutes of the raddest drumming I've ever heard - all to a crazy pyro/music video show. It was awesome... cool... sick... phattastic... I can't even make up a word good enough to describe.

1989
Metallica "....and Justice for all" tour.
A then not-so-young-but-still-not-well-known Queensryche opened, and they were phenomenal. Played some tracks from their then new and breakthrough album "Operation:Mindcrime" and that was it. I was hooked. I am still a very big fan to this day.
Then Metallica came out and played for 4 hours. I was already getting into them, so this just re-affirmed my status as a fan.
Either that or the Bon Jovi New Year's eve show 1992. They played for 4 hours also, since they were filming a video, and they played a few songs multiple times. But 'to make up for it', (as they said), they played some cool covers and some deeper cuts that they hadn't played live in a while (In & Out of Love, Shot Through The Heart, 99 In The Shade, Boys Are Back In Town, Rosalita, Raise Your Hands)
Also noteworthy:
Neil Young w/ Crazy Horse on the H.O.R.D.E. tour in the rain. Some sound issues, but a worthy effort. I mean, as if Neil Young would ever suck.
Santana & Bob Dylan in 1993
And very young and unknown Goo Goo Dolls at a club in 1994 (when no one knew who they were). Loud, sloppy, drunk post punk. Great show. High energy and uptempo covers of BOC's "Don't Fear The Reaper", The Rolling Stones "*****", as well as Cheap Trick's "Surrender" showed that their influences weren't all punk, and it did not surpise me that they eventually had radio hits.
U2 at the vet in Philly on the Achtung Baby tour. I wasn't really a fan at all until I saw this show.
Genesis last tour with Phil Collins, also at the Vet in 1991 or 1992. yeah, they were a pop band at that time, but they are all still great musicians. And when they busted out the old Peter Gabriel era stuff, it was cool.
1987, my uncle took me to Pocono Downs Raceway in Wilkes-Barre PA. One of the very first shows on Aeromsith's "Permanent Vacation" tour, the beginnings of a a second creative burst for them. I knew all the classic rock radio hits, and had heard their new single "Dude Looks Like a Lady". But opening was some band I had never heard, but who record (yes record) I had seen in stores and thought had a cool name: Guns & Roses. Yes, I got to see a young hungry GNR with Axl Rose blow Aerosmith off of the stage. They had the guts to cover "Mama Kin". While I doubt that would be a bad thing normally (as it was on their independent EP), when opening, it is generally not acceptable to play a cover of the headliner's, especially on they play themselves. They weren't openers on that tour for very long, needless to say. The very next week, I saw the vid for "Welcome to the Jungle" on MTV during it's first release as a single (it was actually a hit single AFTER "Sweet Child Of Mine"). Not that I needed the video. I raved to all of my friends about this band the next week at school. They were WAY better than Aeromsith was that night.

All 20-25 (blending again) Rush shows I've been to.
Bob Seger at MSG in 96 or 97 (damn, it sucks getting old). Even though it was post-surgery, he still belted it out pretty good.

The incomparable Queen, in what was sadly their last gig. Absolutely fantastic.
I agree. Queen played Denver McNichols arena about 3 months before Freddie's passing. They blew us away. Billy Squier was the warm up band. This concert was the best performance I have ever seen by a rock band IMO and I have seen many!
Notables: Stevie Nicks is my ultimate fav and then Pat Benatar, Rush, Boston and Cheap Trick was always a thrill to watch. John Cougar gets a vote here since I got to sing Pink Houses with him when he pulled me on stage.
On the Country side Garth Brooks wins this hands down. What an entertainer. But the George Strait festival that involved Tim McGraw, Kenney Chesney, Dixie Chicks, Jo Dee Messina and Asleep At the Wheel was one hell of a show.

That is impossible, as Queen stopped touring the U.S. in 1982, 9 years before Freddie Mercury died. They stopped touring entirely in 1985. You must have seen them on their last U.S. tour.....which still makes you a lucky dog.

I saw Pink Floyd back in 1974 and the ticket price was about $25.00 each. I'd sure like to know where Pink Floyd tickets would have been that cheap?
Best concert I've seen? Tie...Jethro Tull and Rolling Stones
In Denver, Colorado, at the Coliseum. It was billed as the last ever concert at the Coliseum, because McNichols Sports Arena opened the next week. I saw ZZ Top headline that opening, too.
D-j, if you saw Floyd in , say, Los Angeles, it would not surprise me that the tickets were more expensive. My friend Joe was just here for the Graduation party, and he has saved all his ticket stubs from the get go. When I mentioned the cost of the ticket at $5.oo, Joe corrected me, and reminded me they were $5.50 as it shows on the stub he has in his collection.
Say D-j, if you saw Floyd in 1974, and you remember the tickets were about $25.00 apiece, then you could tell us all about a few of the wild aspects of that show! I am sure it would be way enlightening for the younger folks who missed out on that tour.
Hey D-j, what band opened for Floyd on the 1974 tour?

I have seen Tool twice and both times it was amazing.
Weezer puts on a pretty good show, I was in general admission with a bum hip and some one slammed me hip first into a railing, hurt like a mother but didn't ruin an otherwise awesome show.
Eve 6 was the E-Days concert last year which proved to be one of their last shows. Absolutely great concert. We had a party afterward, since it was E-Days, but we came out of the show to find the town of Golden in darkness from a blackout. Not to be denied we went to King Soopers and bought a ton of candles and glow sticks and rocked out in what proved to be one of our best parties of all time. I'm not sure if I think fondly of the concert because it really was awesome or the awesome party afterwards.

Actually it was 1975, not 1974. As I remember, that was the first time I experienced a concert which had such an extensive light show with lazers and the like. Lots of short films behind and above the stage too.
The band which opened for them was some strange group I had never heard of prior to that show. I'm not 100% certain, but I think they were called the Sensational Alex Harvey Band? Ceratinly wasn't ZZ Top. I saw ZZ Top with Dr. John about a year earlier.
ZZ Top was one of the best for lazer light shows. The Eliminator and the Recycler tours were outstanding!
The Eliminator tour started out with this giant cobra behind the stage that was covered with a huge tarp. The lights went out and and that cobra snorted that huge tarp right up it's nose and then shot two green lazers out of it's eyes. The tarp revealed their stage which was the dashboard of the car we all came to know in their videos. That was quite an entrance.
ELO landed a UFO on their stage and then opened the doors for their stage which included all kinds of computers and such like you were inside the UFO.
STYX had an awesome entrance as well. They had a janitor working and pushing these big boxes and crates out on the stage and then he proceded to sweep the floor. Really didn't think much of it until he quickly disappeared, the lights go out and then there was a big flash. Next thing you knew the boxes and crates were gone and each band member was standing in their place as they went into the Grand Illusion song. Totally Awesome!!

not really a concert, but a band playing at this blues night club here in Anchorage. they jamed all night, not only blues & jazz, but some classic rock as well, it was great. I dont' even know the name of the band that was performing, but they were dressed up really nice, it was sweet. We got to talk with them & just hang out during their breaks. I had a better time then I did at any concert I've ever been to.

Actually, i don't know if this is weird or not, but i've only ever been to one concert, just not my cup of tea. The only thing i can see that's worth cramming myself in with thousands of people and jumping up and down and going crazy for is a broncos game (i'm sure you can identify with me there). The concert was when i was in grade 11, so the year 2000 (feels weird just saying 2000) and it was the matthew good band. It sucked, cuz i totally didn't want to go, and i wasn't a fan of them at the time. The opening band was a local one that had gotten kind of big, they were called flybanger (formerly jar), they were pretty good actually.

I saw ZZ top soon after their Tres Hombres album came out. No light show or anything remarkable in any way.
Back when they played truly blues based rock music.
I haven't been impressed with an album of theirs since Elimnator. I do hear they are still pretty good live though. I have never seen them. Were they still playing large clubs and theaters back in the Tres Hombres day? Or was it an arena show?

It was the wildest show ever!
First off... no ther band opened for Floyd on that tour. They came out and played ANIMALS, their next album yet so far unreleased. That opening show sounded so much like Floyd, and we could see it was Roger Waters and Nick and the boys, but it sounded so obscure. It was only later, after Floyd released the album ANIMALS, that we realized they played their new songs for us as a warm up for the big show! After they played ANIMALS as a warm up they took a break.
Let me set up what they had in store for us. There were speakers set about 10 yards apart from the left side of the stage, all the way around the ENTIRE Coliseum! They had absolute control of EVERY single note! Above the band, behind the stage, was a huge, round screen, on which they were going to project movies, short videos to coincide with each song. Remember , this was before MTV.
So... Floyd comes out and they performed Dark side of the Moon from start to finish. Roger Waters would pick off 4 notes, but the notes would sound 1 from a speaker to his right, 2 from a speaker 20 yds distant on his right, 3 from a speaker in the back and 4 from a speaker on the left in the back! Damned if it did not seem as if Roger waters had just bounced a note off of the stage and ricocheted it across the arena! It was the most awesome and innovative thing ever done in concert! Then, as each song was played, on the large round screen suspended above and behind the band, there was a corresponding wildass film that went hand in hand with the song. And remember, this is before MTV!
When the show came to the song MONEY, you all know how it starts. Well in concert, those cash register sounds and all came from EVERY direction! All those speakers, set around the arena, brought it to life! Same, same with TIME, the clocks chimed and ticked from every nook and cranny, while on the screen timepieces whirled and churned and it was overwhelming!
During US AND THEM, the film showed corporate types striving upward, pushing each other out of the way, then they would come back. Suddenly, a homeless woman was shoved out of the way, then a homeless man. They sunk to the bottom, unseen again, while the corporate types jostled. The song took on a new meaning.
The film clip showed during the song dealing with WATER, Lord! It made you feel like you were about to drown! I was on the floor, on the left, near the front. I know that helped. As did it was my first time zooming. What a show!
They got to the title track, and they showed Richard Nixon, sweating profusely, nervous and shaking. Remember, Nixon and Watergate were still fresh. Nixon had stepped down, and Ford was in. The jist of the movie showed Earth from a viewpoint of the Moon. It showed Nixon viewing the Earth through a telescope, shaking and sweating. The point I got was that Nixon was so out of touch, it was like he was viewing the Earth from THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON! It was such a bold political statement for the time and era! It was wild, it shocked us. And all the while, this best of all albums ever, was played live, over these way spread out speakers, and the sound was truly incredible.
At the end of the album played live, there came from all of the speakers the sound of a jet aircraft. It grew in intensity, reaching a crescendo of deafening proportions. Suddenly, a Phantom F-15 fighter jet, short wings, white with orange markings, slung on a wire from the back of the arena to the stage, was let go!
On the stage, we knew not, but trapdoors were opened.
The cacaphony of jet noise, and suddenly an actual JET slid down that wire, though we knew nothing of the wire! It was all this noise, then BAM! A real Jet fighter slammed into the stage! There was a sonic blast that shook us out of our seats! The trap doors closed, the band was gone, the lights came up, and it was over! Stone silence for like 3 seconds. Then as one you heard clear as day, every person turn to his neighbor and say out loud... "DID YOU SEE THAT?" 30,000 people as one spoke those words.
It was tremendous. After a break, Floyd came out and played all kinds of old stuff, for a long time. It was one of the longest concerts I have ever seen. The first Concert I ever saw with no opening act. The damndest best concert I ever saw or will see!
All for $5.50!

Saw ZZ Top on Saturday, 12/01/90 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.....$22.50 general addmission on the floor ....no seats.....standing room only.....stood for entire concert....forget who opened for them.....believe a blind white guy who laid the guitar across his lap......
Was it Jeff Healy? That bad boy can play his ass off. I saw him open for Bon Jovi (?) in Philly once, and he was awesome.

Jeeze man, don't you give credit for anything? Maybe it was a great experience in his life and he remembers it. The internet wasn't around 30 years ago, not even DARPAnet and I doubt anybody would take the time to put a 30 year old review on the web.

I haven't been to any real big concerts. The Deftones in Rapid City was cancelled and I ended up missing out on my favorite band ever. Once I get to Fargo, things will change. It's a pretty big scene in the Midwest.

Yellowcard in my community center hands down. The place had decent acoustics, but it felt a lot more personal and close than a stadium or a large theater. That and I had a press pass and sat backstage with one of the most beautiful girls(Who was a yellowcard fan) at my school, taking pictures. Haha, damn that made me look good.

:D
Rush is absolutely amazing live. I've seen them three times. The best show was in '97 at Fiddler's Green in Denver. They played the entire first side of 2112. Geddy went off on an amzing bass solo during Driven and of course Peart's drum solo was ace.
I've been to tons of shows so it's hard to narrow it down. I'm not a big U2 fan, I only know their popular radio songs, but I went with an old girlfriend to their Pop Mart tour in '97 at Mile High Stadium. They put on an incredible show. I wished I was a bigger fan because as good as they were, a show is always better when it's one of your favorite bands.
Also, the Beastie Boys in '99 at McNichols was a killer show. Mostly because when we showed up they had put sound equipment over our seats so they gave us pit passes and I was front row. I gave high fives to all of A Tribe Called Quest and got the Beastie's set list from the stage after the show.
Rage Against the Machine in '97 was fun mostly because the mosh pit was insane. I chipped a tooth, had a knot on my head and a bloddy nose. Good times.

Wow! What a backhanded way to ATTEMPT to slam me! T-man, do you assume every other person in this life has the exact same, obviously limited, ability to recall past events as do you yourself? Since you have no idea how I could have such a vivid memory, you automaticly assume deceit and subterfuge on my part?
I happen to be blessed with an awesome memory. That was a recounting of the BEST concert I ever attended. I remember even more than I wrote down.
I attended with Dave Cordova, Scott Archibald, and Greg McCulloch. We drove there in Greg's Mom's car. A blue Pontiac.
That show was billed as the last at the Coliseum, because a week later was the opening of McNichols Sports arena. I went to that concert, too.
Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen opened, then flash caddilac and the Continental Kids, and the headliner was ZZ TOP. I had floor seats in the 13 th row on the left side. Back then, Levi's jacket s had no inner pockets, but I swiped my brothers, because his ex girlfriend had sewed a pocket inside for smuggling. I got in a pint of cuervo. The way we distracted the cops, my buddy Marty stepped up, juggling limes, right when they started to pat me down. The cop pushed me through and searched Marty head to toe, sure he was carrying, because of the limes! The other twowith us were Lantz and Rich. We are all still friends to this day.
Barry Fey came out, and told us it was the big summer concerts at Mile High that paid for Big Mac, He sadi specificly funds were raised by the Allman Bros show and the Crosby, Stills Nash and Young show. "Don't ever let 'em shut you out of it!" he yelled as a parting shot! We went nuts! The seats were cushioned, and when we stood on them, you would sway back and forth. Dangerous.
My long, sunbleached hair was braided. I wore a peasant shirt from Equador with green embroidered leaves on it, that my Mom bought me.I sat next to a beautiful girl, half korean and half italian. We flirted and bonded. Discovered we were going to the same HS. I would be a Senior, she was going into 10th grade, the next week! Her name was Kim. She later introduced me to a girl who knocked my socks off! End of summer concert! When ZZ Top came out I took my hair out of the braid. It smelled like rope burning everywhere! ZZ Top had huge cactus plants on stage. Awesome concert band.
Years later, when I met Commander Cody (long story) I told him I was there. "Where?" he asked. I explained to him that he was the first act ever there at Big Mac, he opened the arena! "I did?" he said with an actual tear rolling down his cheek. "Hell Yeah!" I said. "Was I good?" he asked me! I slapped him on the back and told him "You were awesome, dude!" That was at a little bar in Breckenridge. We talked before the show, I bought him a cheeseburger.
29 years later, ZZ Top closed down Big Mac. Marty and I brought our wives. I wore the same shirt. Awesome show. $20.00 tickets, in the front row of the risers just past the floor. I made friends with my usher, and Miss Donna and I bopped in the aisle all night. (Another long story, my friend Dale got kicked out twice! So.. I got to go down to his seat in the 15 th row on the floor and sit with his girlfriend for a while! Just like the old days!) Huge fireworks display followed the show. Those explosions were directly above us! Way cool memories.
So, T-Man... I do not give a good God damn if you believe me or not.
I surprise my friends with old memories, and that is good enough for me.

When I go to a concert, or show, the last thing on my mind is taking notes. But then even when I was in college, the last thing on my mind usually was taking notes.
Live music is a serious hobby for me. Since I never drink before, or during a show, and I never take illicit drugs, I am quite able to jot down the songs and an adjective to help me remember what I liked about it, or what happened in the show (pyro, lasers, flying Paul Stanley, etc...)

Early 70's, the Rolling Stones came to Nashville......we camped out all night in front of the box office.....it was pretty organized at first......people were camped out in the order that they got there, sort of a line.....couldn't block the sidewalks, cause the cops were bothering us for being there that early.....anyway about two hrs. before the ticket office opened.....the orderly line soon became mayhem.....for two hours, pushing and shoving to get a good place in line........make a long story short, $18.00 for a ticket........outragious, unheard of, what would ticket prices be in 10 yrs.......Great concert though.....Stevie Wonder open the show, after he did his set, we went up to the front to see friends ( usually there's a 20 or 30 minute break between sets),,about 15 min. later the Stones came out.....everyone rushed the stage and we were already there pressed up against the stage......

- 1988 Newport Jazz Festival at Saratoga Performing Arts Center -- B.B. King, Ray Charles, Lionel Hampton, Spyrogyra, David Sanborn, Illinois Jacquet and Branford Marsalis, among others
- Fishbone and Primus at SUNY Stonybrook (Fall 1991)
- Fishbone, De La Soul and George Clinton & the P-Funk All-Stars in Austin, TX (September 1995, I think)
- 1997 Vans Warped Tour at CU Boulder -- Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, Hepcat, Social Distortion, Buck o Nine and others
- Eve6 and VAST, Gothic Theater (Spring 2001?)
Off the top of my head, those all stood out for one reason or another. :)

I've probably seen more concerts than anyone here. When I was a young man, I worked for the recreation departmant at a large Naval Base and among other things, I handled ticket sales to various events for the Sailors stationed there.
Whatever the show was, I reserved two tickest for myself. Black Oak Arkansas, Peter Frampton, Rolling Stones, Montrose, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Chicago, ZZ Top, David Bowie, Eagles, Climax Blues Band, Elton John, Jethro Tull, ELO, BTO, EL & P, Paul McCartney, Grand Funk, Allman Bros ... You name the band from the 70s and I've probably seen them at least once. I've probably seen a lot of bands most of you have never heard of too. That is if they came to my city in the four years I worked in the Rec office. I went to a rock concert about every other week for four years.
I can't say one single concert was the best. There were some which were pretty bad, but only a couple. Led Zepplin was horrible, but I really never cared too much for them anyway. Some were exactly like thier live album, ie Peter Frampton and Frampton Comes Alive.
Now I could live like that :D

The 3rd Time I saw Tull, musta been after the time you mentioned, 'cause Ian Anderson announced that everyone should sit down, and if they stood up, the show was over. Well, he damn well meant it!
I was on the floor, and two dumb chicks stood up and started dancin' and right away... Ian dropped his flute and walked offstage! An announcement came on about 2 minutes later... and 2 minutes can be an eternity in those conditions... and they announced that Ian was gonna give us all one more chance.
After that, nobody dared even go to the bathroom! Whata a trip!

Unfortunately, my list pales in comparison to many. I've seen many of my favs, but since I live in the 70s and am only 27, I've only seen them as old farts...Tull, Roger Waters, Yes, Kansas, Rush, King Crimson, Queensryche...
All of them were great as they were, but even the seemingly imortal Ian Anderson is only a reflection of what some of the footage I've seen on DVD.
I haven't seen Pink Floyd, but I did see Waters in I think 2001 at Fiddlers and that was a great show.
I've seen one of my favorite current bands, Dream Theater, several times. All their shows are outstanding. Also, I saw Coheed and Cambria last year at the Gothic. THAT was an amazing show.
The worst or most disappointing show I've ever seen was the Alan Parson's Project. I love many of their albums, but live they seemed bored to be there.

Well, they haven't had any recent radio play, but I think that they still write challenging, thoughtful music. They experimented with melody on those records, to great commercial success, but it seems that now they are writing at a more gut level.
Chris DeGarmo leaving had something to do with that I am sure.
To be honest though, Promised Land is my fave, not the two you mentioned.....(although it is my fave by a very slight margin).

My favorite along with Operation:Mindcrime is actually The Warning. Geoff Tate's vocals are amazing on that album.

I have heard of them, and yeah, they are ok.
I wondered how they would be live My impression was that they were so geeky about studio technique that I wondered how they recreate the CD live. I think I had borrowed "Parallels" in college.
I vaguely remember hearing them as a more straight forward metal band on my local college station's metal show when I was a kid. It might have been someone else.
They are alright. Not as good as Dream Theater.
Queensryche is the only 'prog' band I have seen live, and they aren't prog in the true sense. They are prog in the sense that every album is competely different themeatically and songwriting wise. (the first one is like a Maiden rip off record, where as Tribe was like nu metal, or grunge influenced rock, with some classic metal roots to it). But they don't play suites like some of the other prog bands do.
Anyway, when I have seen QR, they have blown me away.

Shrug.
Dream Theater is extraordinary, IMO. They carried the torch of progrock for several years, bringing it to modern rock and metal.
I've seen them more than any other band. I saw them on the Yes tour as well(except I went to the Bud Pavillion show instead of Red Rocks). Those shows they catered to the Yes fans a little bit by playing their softer stuff...which still has an edge compared to most of Yes.

I guess if I had to pick...I liked the Stones better...probably cause I remember that one better....also had better seats.... :D
of course...wasn't sitting too much in our seats....oh man the memories...wish I was younger again...sometimes...

Marilyn Manson in Vegas...
Or The Pledge of Allegiance tour with Slipknot, System of a Down, Mudvayne and Ramstein (Ramstein still put on the best Pyro show I have seen from any band ever)... They postponed the tour because of 9/11 and then Denver ended up being the 1st date--
... Or Tool @ the Coors Event Center....
There are too many...

Got you on the price Dave I saw Black Sabbath,Heart&Boston in '76 for 4.50
but I would have to say Rush was the best I've seen or the Eagles w/Steve Miller
or Kiss or Beach boys or The Scorpions or Van Halen(D.L. Roth)

I saw Paul Oakenfold at Red Rocks in 2000. He kept going until about 1:00 a.m. That's probably number one.
Body Count, Metallica and GNR was probably number two, back in 1992.
I saw KISS on their farewell tour #8. Would have loved to hear them perform, instead of the 40 drunks that surrounded me.

I just saw the Beatles Tribute show at Red Rocks a week ago.
What an awesome experience. They were tight and right on the money.
The Lennon dude said they have done it for over 20 years...
asked how many people had the same haircut for that long!
What fun!

Texxas Jamm, 1985, Dallas Texas, Cotton Bowl, close to 100.000, friggin HOTTTT!!! 110 degrees, it rained and you could see STEAM coming of everyone!
Started around 11 AM and did not end untill way past midnight that night.
A bunch of Jerbronie bands like Victory and Grim Reaper opened it up, then a virtually unknown Bon Jovi came out, well the women lost their friggin MINDS!!! I have NEVER seen more bras fly over my head ever!!! AWESOME!
Ted Nugent came on next, and boys let me tell you, he was PISSED about being placed so low on the bill in front of Night Ranger! He tore that place UP! He rocked so damn hard he passed out right at the end , and had to be carried off!
Well, he ruined it for Night Ranger! They were good, but Texas was a Nugent crowd, and they bout got booed off the stage, shoes and all kinds of crap were flying at the drummer, they really regretted it !
Scorpions were next, and them boys ROCKED back then!
Deep Purple were the headliners, and they did not disappoint! It was their most famous lineup, and they played well over 2 hours, and had a great light show. Richie Blackmore is the KING of hard rock solo guitar, and it was ALL for 25$ THOSE DAYS ARE OVER FOREVER!!
