What is the best theme song.

I'm going with the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song.

Lengthened Version

Now this is a story all about how
my life got flipped turned upside down
and I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how i became the prince of a town called Bel-Air

In west Philadelphia born and raised
on the playground is where i spent most my days
chillin out maxin and relaxin all cool
and all shootin some b-ball outside of the school
when a couple of who were up to no good
started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
and said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air"

I begged and pleaded with her the other day
but she packed my suitecase and sent me on my way
she gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket
i put my walkman on and said i might as well kick it

First class yo this is bad
drinkin orange juice out of a champagne glass
is this what the people on bel-air livin like
hmmm... this might be alright

But wait I hear the prissy brews wine all that
is this the type of place where they should sent this cool cat
I dont think so ill see when i get there
I hope to prepare for the prince of bel-air

Well. .. .uh
the plane landed and when i came out
there was a dude look like a cop standin there wit my name out
i aint tryin to get arrested i just got here
i spring like the quickness of lightning disappear
i whistle for a cab and when it came near
the liscence place said fresh
and had a dice in the mirror
if anything i could say that this cab was rare
but i thought man forget yo homes to bel-air

i pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
and i yelled to the cab yo homes smell you lata
i looked at my kingdom i was finally there
to settle my thrown as the prince of bel-air

For me either 'Burning Bridges' from Kelly's Heros, 'Suicide is Painless' from M*A*S*H or 'The Self Preservation Society' from The (Original) Italian Job.

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. They promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no-one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

The Ballad of Serenity

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me

Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't coming back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me

There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me

Not so much at first but it really gets in head after a few episodes.

Yep, I love that song now. I never fast forward through it when watching the series on DVD.

Some of my faves were from Cheers and The Greatest American Hero. I also enjoy the ones from Buffy and Angel.

I'm sure there are others than aren't immediately coming to mind.

The theme from "Hill Street Blues".

The one from M*A*S*H was very good.

Cheers and & Night Court also had excellent pieces of msuic that could stand on their own.

You woke up this morning
Got yourself a gun,
Mama always said you'd be
The Chosen One.

She said: You're one in a million
You've got to burn to shine,
But you were born under a bad sign,
With a blue moon in your eyes.

You woke up this morning
All the love has gone,
Your Papa never told you
About right and wrong.

But you're looking good, baby,
I believe you're feeling fine, (shame about it),
Born under a bad sign
With a blue moon in your eyes.

You woke up this morning
The world turned upside down,
Thing's ain't been the same
Since the Blues walked into town.

But you're one in a million
You've got that shotgun shine.
Born under a bad sign,
With a blue moon in your eyes.

When you woke up this morning everything you had was
gone. By half past ten your head was going ding-dong.
Ringing like a bell from your head down to your toes,
like a voice telling you there was something you should
know. Last night you were flying but today you're so low
- ain't it times like these that make you wonder if
you'll ever know the meaning of things as they appear to
the others; wives, mothers, fathers, sisters and
brothers. Don't you wish you didn't function, wish you
didn't think beyond the next paycheck and the next little
drink' Well you do so make up your mind to go on, 'cos
when you woke up this morning everything you had was gone.

When you woke up this morning,
When you woke up this morning,
When you woke up this morning,
Mama said you'd be the Chosen One.

When you woke up this morning,
When you woke up this morning,
When you woke up this morning,
You got yourself a gun.

What about the Dukes of Hazzard?
Good Ol' Boys

By Waylon Jennings

Just the good ol' boys,
Never meanin' no harm,
Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Straight'nin' the curve,
Flat'nin' the hills.
Someday the moutain might get 'em, but the law never will.

Makin' their way,
The only way they know how,
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

Just good ol' boys,
Wouldn't change if they could,
Fightin' the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.

" All in the Family"....."Boy, the way Glenn Miller played"

"Those Were The Days"

by Lee Adams and Charles Strouse

Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the hit parade.

Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days.

Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight.

Gee, our old LaSalle ran great. Those were the days.

And you know who you were then, girls were girls and men were men.

Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.

People seemed to be content. Fifty dollars paid the rent.

Freaks were in a circus tent. Those were the days.

Take a little Sunday spin, go to watch the Dodgers win.

Have yourself a dandy day that cost you under a fin.

Hair was short and skirts were long. Kate Smith really sold a song.

I don't know just what went wrong. Those Were The Days.

Tru calling had a rocking theme, yet i can't remember how the lyrics went.

Charmed had a cool one though...

I am the sun... and the air....
I am human and i need to be loved,
just like everybody else... yeah...

See i have already waited too long,
and all my hope is true...

The Smiths.

"How Soon Is Now?"

One of the most influential "alternative' tracks of all time, back when there was a true alternative scene.

Great, if creepy, tune.

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.
Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol Jed’s a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.
Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.

Well now its time to say good-bye to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You’re all invited back next week to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality
Hillbilly that is. Set a spell. Take your shoes off.
Y’all come back now, y’hear
