this was a pretty good movie. the subject matter is race relations and the movie deals with it in a thoughtful manner by evenly distributing responsibility - for instance, some responibility for rascism is placed upon the race that is subject to the rascism. i'm not sure what the point was, other than the complexity of race relations, but i think that is a good thing in that it means the movie never got preachy.
it earns its R with brief nudity, sexual situations, a lot of language and i guess violence. so while i wouldn't take the kids, on the whole i recommend the movie; it's entertaining, well made and acted, and as smart of a movie about race relations as one can hope for.
