I am sure all of you know about Deangelo Williams, the sensational running back from Memphis. Last night, in a 198 yard effort against Houston, he broke the 5,000 career rushing yards mark.

His effort gave him a total of 5,145 yards thus far, moving him into 10th place for career rushing yards in college football history. He is an attainable 1252 yards away from Ron Dayne's 6397 yard mark that is currently first all-time. Although reaching this mark is not likely, as he would have to gain 250 yards for each of the last 5 games, and an upcoming bout with Tennessee seems to make that unlikely.

So, are there still any doubts about his nfl abilities?

No, no doubts, but not for the reasons you stated though. The numbers-throw those out. The guy he's chasin' is 3rd stingin' it on a team that couldn't find a runnin' game 2 weeks into the season after he was cut and signed for league minimum.
What will make him an outstanding pro is his C.O.D., first step, elusiveness, competitiveness, physical nature, etc. As the Carnell Williams vs. Ronnie Brown debate has tought (yet again) that the best athlete always wins and Williams (DeAngelo) is a pretty tough one at that.
If Bush and/or Maroney don't come out, he'll be taken around 24. If Kevin Jones wasn't valued any higher than that (yet another mistake by the NFL gurus), than neither will Williams. It's unfortunate, but they (NFL) screw it up every year.
