Are you camping out for the XBOX 360?

I didin't preorder the 360, so now I have to camp out at Wal-Mart for 5-6 hours in hopes of getting one. Who else is in the same boat?

Question - why do you have to have one now? Why pay top $$$ when in 6 mths it will be half of what it is now?

I need answers cause my sone wants one NOW and I aint spending that kind of $$ on something that I KNOW will be half price 6 mths from now?

And camping out for one - yeah right - only thing I would camp out for is a car or Broncos/Yankees/Huskies tix :D

well even if you pre-ordered one you may not get it until next year. I dont think its worth camping out for. First of all there wont be alot of games that will be available until at least january. Second of all I wont spend $400 on any system unless I'm building my own gaming computer.

also one thing you might want to keep in mind is what your getting. I would advise EVERYONE NOT TO GET JUST THE CORE SYSTEM!!!!!!

I cant stress that enough as you will just end up spending well over $150 to get the extras that come in the complete package (which is inly $100) more. If you read any gaming magazine then you will realize that its purely marketing ploy for people who dont know what they are buying.

FOR SURE!!!!!!!!! Im camping out!!!!!!!! :beer: Im not sure if im going to try wallmart or circuit city. What are your plans? Are you going to bring a lawn chair and a cooler filled with red-bull lol. Ive heard its going to be chaos, cause as soon a they open the doors its a free for all. I hope the employees have a plan for this sort of thing.
Also i really doubt that the price will drop anytime this year or the next. Everyone also have to remember that Halo 3 wil be coming out the same time as PS3 so i dont think there will be any need for a price drop for Sony's launch.

The Wal-Mart here is handing out tickets at 10pm. If you get a ticket, you get a system. I'm going at 6pm and camping out in the layaway department, since that's where the systems are going to be sold. Fortunately the bathrooms and water fountains, not to mention candy bars are right there so I'll have everything I need for the wait. :beer:

Yep. Alot of people I know preordered in August, and they still won't get their's on the 22nd. What is crappy though, is that they were told they would. So now a few buddies have tried to get refunds so they can go to Wal Mart with me, but EB/Gamestop don't give cash refunds!

I heard that they wont be mass producing the 360's until sony launches the PS3. So it looks like they are purposely making a shortage, marketing scheme maybe? I dont know maybe their not ready to start mass production yet? I heard it from a guy at Circut City so i dont know how credible it is.

If I decide to get it, it will be after a price cut and hopefully a better selection of games. Plus I usually hate the first generation technology they put out with it, somehow, there is always some glich with new gaming systems. Overheating or not reading disc properly and the like. Hopefully Microsoft will have worked out the bugs on this sytem before rushing it out the door.

I recently got a Playstation 2 for my birthday (Nov. 3). It's one of those mini-ish more compact ones. No way in heck i'll be getting an X-BOX 360, or a Playstation 3. Those controllers look gay (PS3). I'll most definitely be getting the Nintendo Revolution, though. Tomorrow i'll be getting Madden 2006! Woot! :D

I'm not camping out I gonna wait until there cheaper.I don't see any point in spending $400 on the system then having to spend $60+ on games and not to metion $40+on a extra controll youll end up spending $500-$700 this isn't a good time to spend that much money especaly whith Chrstmas so close and when alot of people are having money problems im fine with my original Xbox.
