Guys, I do not. Repeat. I do not want for us to have to face New England in our first play off game of the year. It's becoming clearer and clearer to me that the bengals are not going to beat pittsburgh (it's the bus' last run). That leaves jacksonville beating the pats and that's not going to happen in new england either. Granted, we beat the pats earlier this season but it ended up being a nail biter. Patrick Pass gave us nightmares and Givens killed us yet again. We jumped out to a big lead and ended up almost losing it. This will not be a good match up for us. Brady will kill you in the end if you give him a chance and just in time for the play offs what do they do? They've gained confidence here in the past couple of weeks. I know Invesco will be rockin and you guys that will be at the game are gonna give it all you got but I just have a bad feeling about the patriots coming in to town.

We never almost lost we were up top the whole game and the offense played too conservative in the second half which we fixed after a couple of games and the big thing is that we are at INVESCO we are unstoppable at home.

Don't let it bother you. It's just gas ;)
Seriously, nothing is determined. Upsets happen all the time in Wild-Card weekend. Emphasis on wild.
We can/will beat anyone that comes to our house. I'm excited to see exactly what our potential competors offer this weekend.

i do agree. they are the one team i dont want to play, or more correctly, the team i want to play the least. i do think we can beat them, but i think cincy or jax would be an easier (as much as any team is 'easy' in the second round of the playoffs) opponent. i also like either jax or ne going into indy.

I fully expect them to lose to the Jaguars. Even the Jags can exploit that secondary.
And the Jags are damn good on defense. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Jags won. After all, the Jags have beaten some good teams this year. I mean, they beat both Pittsburgh, Cincy and Seattle. And their losses came to Denver and Indy twice. Their only bad loss was to St. Louis and while they played a few bad teams kind of close, I still expect them to put up a good fight in New England. They are a good defensive football team built for cold weather even if they do play in Jacksonville. Anyway, I can't say that I expect New England to lose, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Jags take them out.

I WANT the Pats!!!
I want to knock off the World Champs!!
"In order to BE the best, ya gotta BEAT the best!"
I didnt come up with that, lol. But I believe it! I have no fear of the Patriots, or any of the other teams in the AFC, and that includes Indy, AT Indy!
I WANT a good matchup! I want the best game we can get, and I want us to show everyone that we CAN stand toe to toe with any other team in the league!
I WANT Chad Johnson doing an endzone dance at Invesco!
I WANT Tom Brady working his magic here!
I WANT Big Ben to show us why he was ROY last year, here! I WANT to see the BUs's last game! Just like I saw TO's LAST touchdown!!
I WANT only the best! And I want to beat them! We CAN beat them!! We WILL beat them!!
Call me a homer, hell, call me whatever you want, but I believe it! It's up the them to prove me wrong!
Pats fall at Invesco, and then we go to Indy for payback!
One game at a time. But I have been to Detriot for a Super Bowl, and I plan on going back!

At one point we were up 28-3 against the Pats and then let them have 17 unanswered points.
Now the question is from a defesnive side of the ball, do you think we would blow a big lead against them a second time? I think we are playing better defensively as a whole now.
Last 3 homes games we played we gave up 0-10-3 points.
We are playing tighter defensively.
Hopefully our offensive can more the ball with the same kind of ease we did against the Pats the first time. May be a bit harder as they have gotten better.
But like Jwinn I want our team to end Brady's 9-0 playoff streak.

NONSENSE! We want the pats, and prove to everyone more importantly ourselves that we deserve the superbowl. If you can't beat a team in the playoffs, and hope that another team beats them, then we don't deserve it. I welcome the patriots, and anyone else, because not only will our team compete, but they can win.

How have they gained momentum, they've beaten up on crap teams, and lost to good teams. The dolphins are good. Losing at your home finale going into the playoffs isn't momentum no matter what. If we fear them, they will beat us, don't let them get in your head. They have proven they can win their division, but they haven't proven they can beat indy or denver in their respective places. We may not distroy the patriots, be we got the firepower to beat them, just like we did earlier in the year.

these are the playofffs!!!!!
you lose once and you are out. thats it
but then again if you win we move closer to the promise land!!
all teams in get respect regardless of seed that they are places. lets not forget nor will i ever forget jacksonville 95 when the 6 seed knocked off the #1 seed who was that?? DENVER!!
Ouch that still hurts. keep your chins up there and enjoy where we are. LIKE mike said on espn radio no one has won anything yet. on any given sunday. remember that phrase?
Its cool to have butterflies. remember our team was built to defeat peyton. thats it. they will drop 9 into coverage if necceassary, love your team and cheer them on personally i love the fact that everyone isnt giving our team respect. we have none in the medias eyes and i think its to our advantage, let everyone think that our defense is a joke you havent heard anything about the nfl's #3 defense because good teams with offenses have put up some points against us. like who?? i love that bull.
i personally want cincy. i cant stand that chad johnson. i think he is worse then TO. i would love an upset against them even usa today sports weekly has rated them above us, they cant even give us credit i looked at cincy's scedule and i saw that they had only 6 hard games against quality teams. that is to funny.

I was at the Patriots game this year and we were in control the whole game. Plus like others stated if we are the best team we will win. I watched the Broncos-Chiefs playoff game (1998) yesterday when I was transferring the tape to DVD and the Broncos Defense carried us in that game and I believe they will carry us again.

Ok, ok. I hear that. And you're right if we want to be considered one of the best we have to beat one of the best. Ol Salisbury isnt giving us a chance though. He feels the Pats are going to come out in a five receiver set and throw on us all day. We'll see.

Pats fan here.
If you are just looking at the 10/16/05 game and other statistics to project the outcome of this Saturday game, then you have nothing to worry about.
1/ 10/16 game: from a Pats fan perspective, the real score was 28-3. You guys annihilated and humiliated us. The 17-unanswered points were a gift from Denver D, and don't count in my book. You beat us once, you beat us again. Piece of cake, right? 28-3 last time, how can you lose this time?
2/ Statistics: on paper, the Broncos are better than Pats in all categories + you are undefeated at Mile High. How can you lose?
Obviously, you guys all think you will roll over us again. As a Pats fan, I am cautiously optimistic that we will pull an upset because of what I know of my team:
1/ Against Tom Brady & the Pats, all statistics are out the window, especially in the playoffs. It's what I call the intangibles: Brady was only a 6th round draft choice and won 3 SBs. The guy just won when he had to. The Pats have always stepped up in the playoffs. They believe in themselves now after strong late season performance, but never over confident.
2/ The Pats are a different and better team this time around. I know you guys don't want to hear it and don't care, but if you end up losing, you'll read about it in the paper as some sort of explanation.
3/ Coach Belichick never lost the the same team twice in the same season.
I'll bookmark this, and come back to it after the game. Win or lose.

Well...that didn't work out to well. ;)
They did keep it close the first half though, but in the end they were no match for the Pats.
Jags don't have a good offense. Any chance they had of winning would have had to be a low scoring affair. Once they fell behind, it was over. Like Steelers, they don't have an offense suited to play catch-up.
I'm w/JWinn. We can't be scared of our opponents. My goodness! Didn't you all see that we went 13-3 against a very tough schedule. We've already beaten the Colts (in pre-season) and the Patriots. We're getting healthy at key positions (CB, MLB). Have some faith that this year will be "The Year".
Agreed that Pats' defense is solid and playing better than when we met earlier in the year. We jumped out to a big lead by making big plays (especially in the passing game). Think that Mike will change it up some. Watch for us to pound the ball w/Dayne and Bell to suck up safeties to the LOS and then have some screens and slants to keep chains moving. It won't be pretty, but I think we'll have a well-managed victory. Something like 17-10. Bring on Indy...

I'll add one simple thing, and I belive as simplistic as it may seem, it's more important than anything else, that is the Broncos beat the Patriots, B.B., and Tom Brady once this year, whens the last time they lost twice in one season to the same team??? Never, and it won't happen here. ;)

Would you believe the NFL's best run defense in the second half of the season was the Patriots? It's true and that defense will get a great test against the Broncos. The Patriots gave up only 68.6 yards a game rushing in the second half of the season.

I just posted this, but I will again because it may help you feel better about this game!
1. I know New England is a trendy pick to reach its fourth Super Bowl in five years, but here's what could stop the Patriots from getting there: 1) Tom Brady is a different quarterback on the road, and New England must play its next two away from Gillette Stadium to reach Detroit. OK, OK, so Brady is a perfect 10 in the playoffs and beat Pittsburgh in two AFC Championship games at Pittsburgh (once, with help from Drew Bledsoe), but look what happened this year. Including this weekend's playoff game, Brady has 17 touchdowns and two interceptions at home; on the road he has 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Yeah, I'd call that a trend.

Shall we do this again, boxer? If you insist...
NY Jets...2nd to last rushing offense in the league.
Buffalo...20th ranked rushing offense in the league.
TB...14th ranked rushing offense in the league.
Miami...12th ranked rushing offense in the league.
Saints...18th ranked """""
KC....4th ranked (but you got owned by them)
Tell me again the dominant rushing teams you have faced since KC?

Well, as different as the NE Patriots are now from earlier this season, so are the Broncos from the other years where the Pats beat the Broncos. This is not the same Broncos as last year's team. Yeah, the Pats are tough. But, they're going to meet a MUCH tougher Broncos with a home field advantage. This game is no gimme, but none of the other ones are, either.
Bring on the Pats. It's time.
