My Goodness.
It is quiet around here early this morning.
I have been watching NFL Network, ESPN, blah blah blah....
And guess what. The "stat" spatters and the "We get no respect" people need to sit back, grab another cup of coffee and chill.

People are actually picking us to win.
So all this "we get no respect" threads should be trashed. We are quietly sneaking into the "I Told You So" scene..
But I know why it's quiet.
The Butterfuly thread: :Like I said 50% of us have butterflies and the other 50% are kidding themselves.

Just saving it for tonight. The game is all that matters, not the hype.

The suspence is killing me I wonder how the Broncos Offence will come out. Lelie needs to have a big game in order to beat the Pats we need at least 2 big plays to help open up our run game if we can do that we win. This is going to be a great game and I have feeling we will still be hear next week!

It's funny. As the week dragged on, the radio and TV people started to come around. Monday there was a few, Tuesday and Wednesday a few more, and now we're up to about 33% of the analysts picking us.
I heard one guy on the radio say he thinks Denver will win, but he wants NE to win. He wants to see if all these people that are saying "until NE loses, I'm going with them" will say that next week.

Yeah, after looking at the players one by one, teams as a whole one by one. Denver is superior in every aspect. In reality, we shouldnt lose. No doubt it will be a tough game, but we should win it.
Also its a game of faces, and all the media sees is Brady vs. Jake. Not NE vs. Denver.

Even as a Pats fan, i find those "predictions" kind of annoying-- where's the analysis? I read an article by a Denver writer who covered the above sentiment rather well when he mentioned "rooting for romance" ( http://www.projo.com/patriots/content/projo_20060114_14broncs.22068691.html )
The way i see it, Denver is the proven team this year; NE is not. New England's gotten back as many of their key players as they're gonna get, so we NE fans still have hope. But, we're still relatively unproven against quality opposition.
This is the defining game for the Pats season; they know it, and us NE fans know it. Some of the Pats players have already said that their effort versus the Jaguars is not good enough to beat Denver. What that means is: NE is not the team to beat in this game (like much of the media portrays): Denver is.
Problem is that so many people are "rooting for romance" by calling NE defending champions, or quoting NE's playoff streak, etc etc, that i think too much objectivity is lost. Maybe it's the fact that NE is pretty much an X factor as a team.
So, good luck to the Broncos tonight. If Denver comes out running the ball well, i think this game is lost for NE.

That's what annoys me. When people fail to attempt to do some sort of analysis to predict the results of the game or when they misuse statistics. I mean, these people get paid to use their "expertise" to predict the outcomes of games, but they so often don't even try to do a full analysis or look at the outcomes of previous games. It's almost like they predict the game based on an observation or two from the couple of games that they've seen earlier in the year.
I expect experts to either go and look at a good amount of film from both teams to get a idea of what each team can exploit. Or to do a full statistical analysis not limited to looking at how the teams rank in yards allowed per game.
