View Full Version : What Will Roger Clemens Do?

Roger Clemens said previously that if he were to pitch in 2006, he would consider four teams: the Boston Red Sox, the Houston Astros, the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers.

Clemens led the majors with a 1.87 ERA last season can obviously make a big impact to any team lucky enough to sign him. Will Roger pitch again in 2006 or have we seen the last of the Rocket?

The way I figure, if he was going to sign with New York, Boston, or Texas, he would have done so already. Therefore, he's probably either going to go back to Houston after May 1 or retire. I voted for Houston but easily could have went with "retirement" too.

I don't care...this is almost as ridiculous as Brett Favre.

lol, I was just going to say that, I'm pretty sure he'll retire anyway, he can probably still compete but he's been in the league for a long time and I don't think he'd be able to handle the pressure and constant media attention in places like Boston or New York, the Astros are a possibility

New York- Been there done that
so IMO its between the rangers and sox, i give the sox the edge because i think roger wants the last laugh on duquette(the former sox gm who thought he was washed up)

Sox.

Not only do I want him here, we need him here, we saw today what happens with one gap in the rotation with David Wells being injured (he's a gap in the rotation himself) but my point it I'm sure we'd pay him big bucks to come out here and pitch in the Beantown.

Plus it would obviously be a story-book ending, his career started here. He even calls Boston his second home.

do not forget the pathetic bullpen of Rudy Seanez, David Riske (now injured) an even worse 5th starter of Lenny DiNardo and the impoder of Julian Tavarez.

By the end of the year Jon Papelbons arm is going to fall off and Keith Foulke and Timlin will all have sore arms. :ugh:

Clemens will help them :coffee:
